In its latest issue, Gaming Today polled nine Las Vegas bookmakers and a pair of local media members to see who they liked to win Super Bowl XLVI between the New England Patriots and New York Giants.
Only two of them — LVH Super Book’s Jay Kornegay and Vinny Magliulo of “The Linemakers” — sided with the Giants. The other seven all like the Patriots to win, including Zack Goldberg of Wildfire, one of only two panel members to predict a double digit victory either way.
Goldberg, who won the Bookies Battle earlier this year, predicts a 27-16 Patriots victory.
“[The] Pats are extremely undervalued for a team that has won two in row,” Goldberg told Gaming Today. “I have a hard time believing Eli can beat Brady in two Super Bowls.”
Of the nine that like the Patriots, six of them picked them to win by four or more, which would be enough to cover the current 3-point spread. Two others like the Pats to win by 3, while MGM’s Jay Rood predicts a one-point victory (24-23).
“I see a low scoring game with Brady executing a last minute drive to seal the game and his hall of fame credentials,” Rood told Gaming Today.
Seven of 11 think the game will go under the posted total of 54, and if you combine all the predictions, the average final score is Patriots 28, Giants 24.
