In case you’ve been football-obsessed and haven’t been paying attention to the NBA, there are two epic streaks taking place at the same time.

One is fairly surprising, while the other shouldn’t be at all.

Based on NBA divisional odds released by the LVH SuperBook, five of six division winners from last year are favored to repeat in 2012-13. Only Chicago is expected to fall out of the top spot, with Indiana holding the best odds to win the Central.

That didn’t take long.

Less than 24 hours after the 2012 NBA Draft concluded, the Greek has already released odds on who will win the 2013 Rookie of the Year Award.

Even before rosters inevitably shuffle with free agency and trades, a sportsbook rep is ready to declare there is no question the Miami Heat should be “overwhelming favorites” to repeat as NBA champions in 2013.

The Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder will meet in this year’s NBA Finals, and both are expected to contend for next year’s championship, too.

The LVH SuperBook released its 2012-13 NBA championship futures odds on Monday, and the Heat and Thunder are listed as co-favorites at 5-2 odds.

But if they do advance to the NBA Finals, oddsmakers don’t give them much of a chance against either the Spurs or Thunder.

Despite being the No. 1 seed, the San Antonio Spurs were never really considered the favorites in the Western Conference.
