NBA Draft Lottery

The Orlando Magic had a leading scorer (Aaron Afflalo) and leading rebounder (Nikola Vucevic) that only the most passionate NBA fans could name, and they closed the regular season as an underdog in their final 24 games.

The good news: They’ll finally be favored to win something with the NBA Draft Lottery next Tuesday. The bad news: The lottery favorite—despite having a 25 percent chance—has won only twice in the past 21 years.

A poll on the USA Today’s website asks the question: “Do you think the NBA Lottery was fixed?” The results aren’t all that surprising.

What is more alarming, though, is NBA executives calling the lottery “a joke” and openly questioning if the entire process was rigged to get the still NBA-owned New Orleans Hornets the No. 1 pick.

Some might say it’s a waste of time to bet the NBA Draft Lottery odds.

But those people obviously haven’t read Bleacher Report’s latest groundbreaking news story, one in which they “predict how the chips will likely fall.” It’s compelling stuff and a must-read for any sports gambler hoping to make some cash by betting the lottery on Wednesday night.

The Charlotte Bobcats are favored to win the NBA’s Draft Lottery, which will be held on Wednesday.

If the Bobcats win, they’ll grab Kentucky big-man Anthony Davis with the No. 1 overall pick. Now, the bad news: Only twice in the last 20 years has the favorite won the draft lottery.
