PrintCollege football season doesn’t kick off until Aug. 30, but some sportsbooks will begin releasing early point spreads in the coming weeks and months. Unfortunately, all of the games released—usually between 100 and 150, in all—will be matchups between marquee teams.
While it’s great for Alabama, Oregon and Oklahoma fans, those in Pullman, Wash., Ames, Iowa, and Boulder, Colo., have nothing to get excited about.
That’s where we come in.
We’ve projected point spreads for all 798 games (even the thrilling UTSA vs. Texas A&M-Commerce showdown in early September) and have also broken them up by conference for convenience. In addition, we’ve provided what the standings would look like if the projected favorite won every game*.
*Keep in mind: There are a handful of coin flip games that could go either way. Texas A&M, for instance, is an underdog of less than a field goal three times. It would be very easy for the Aggies to turn their 2-6 conference record into 4-4 or 5-3.
Quite obviously, projecting point spreads three months in advance is an imperfect process. You will likely spot inconsistencies or notice mistakes or disagree with some of the lines. If so, feel free to e-mail us at beyondthebets@gmail.com.
