PrintWeek 2 in the NFL is already underway, and the LVH SuperBook released early Week 3 spreads a few days ago.
But what about every other week?
Over the summer, Cantor Gaming released point spreads for every NFL game this season (excluding Week 17, of course). It was a generous endeavor and gave us all plenty to talk about during those boring summer months, but they’ve become a little outdated.
For instance, those point spreads gave a lot of value to the Miami Dolphins, a team that is rapidly becoming the worst in the whole league.
Let’s take Week 11, when the Dolphins will travel to Buffalo. Think in your mind what you’d set that line at. Buffalo by a touchdown, perhaps? Probably somewhere around there.
Well, the spread back in May was only Buffalo -2.5.
And that’s just one example. Teams like the Washington Redskins, Atlanta Falcons and Dallas Cowboys also needed adjustments, and so did a lot of other teams.
So that’s what we tried to do.
With help from @nw3, we’ve provided projected point spreads for Weeks 4 through 16 in the NFL (listed below) by using, A) the current Week 2 lines compared to Cantor’s original numbers, and, B) the LVH’s Week 3 look-ahead lines compared to Cantor’s early numbers.
It was an imperfect process, but we were at least able to come up with rough estimates for each game based on what’s taken place so far.
Use these however you wish. (They can help particularly with planning ahead for your Survivor Pool strategy.)
