Collin Klein, Kansas State’s Heisman-contending quarterback, controlled Miami’s defense in the first half with a well-balanced diet of runs and passes to help the Wildcats jump out to a 24-6 halftime lead.
Nothing fancy. No cheap thrills. Bill Snyder football.
Until this play happened.
On a third-and-goal from the 1-yard line near the end of the second quarter, Klein went all Harlem Globetrotters on us and tried a behind-the-back pass to Chris Harper. From the looks of it, the play was designed.
It, um, didn’t go so well. A 19-yard loss and subsequent missed field goal didn’t appear to make Snyder very happy.
(Kansas State is a 2.5-point favorite in the second half.)
