NFL Week 3 Look-Ahead Lines: Pats a pick ‘em at Baltimore in AFC Championship rematch

September 12, 2012

It never hurts to plan ahead.

Every week, the LVH SuperBook in Las Vegas releases “look-ahead” point spreads before the current week’s games have been played.

Some notable Week 3 nuggets:

  • The Patriots are a pick’em at Baltimore on Sunday Night Football. Revenge game for the Ravens. That’s a rematch of the AFC Championship Game, when the Ravens almost won on a late (and dropped) touchdown pass, but then missed the game-tying field goal that would’ve sent it to overtime.
  • The Falcons will be facing their third straight AFC West opponent. They won at Kansas City in the opener and are a 2.5-point favorites at home against the Broncos on Monday Night Football this week. In Week 3, the LVH has Atlanta as a 2.5-point underdog at San Diego.
  • The Bucs are 7.5-point underdogs at Dallas, which is the exact same spread they currently have at the Giants in Week 2. That means the LVH rates the Cowboys and Giants as essentially equal, it would appear.
  • Eight of 16 games have spreads of a field goal or less.
  • Only one spread is in double digits (St. Louis +10.5 at Chicago).
