NFL Week 1 Public Perception Rankings: Patriots start on top; Jags buried at the bottom

September 9, 2012

Each week throughout the NFL regular season, we’ll be providing our public perception rankings, a 1-through-32 look at the teams that might be overvalued or undervalued by Joe Public bettors.

As you might expect, the New England Patriots open the year as the No. 1 public team. They’re followed by the Packers, Eagles, Steelers and Texans.

The least ‘public team? The Jaguars. They’ve got a new coach, a lousy quarterback, a disgruntled running back, an awful fan base and no real redeeming qualities. Oh, and also: They went 5-11 last year and haven’t posted a winning season since making the playoffs in 2007.

Other teams the public wants no part of: The Browns, Rams, Cardinals and Dolphins.
