The NBA’s regular season begins Oct. 30 with a game between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics, two teams that are destined to make the playoffs, at least according to season win totals released by the LVH SuperBook on Tuesday.
If the season were to play out exactly as expected, Miami would earn the No. 1 overall seed in the Eastern Conference, while Boston would finish as high as either No. 2 or No. 3.
But what about the rest of the league?
Using only season win totals, we’ve provided a breakdown (below) of how the 2012-13 NBA season would play out, in addition to which teams would make the playoffs. The Nets, playing their first season in Brooklyn, are a projected No. 8 seed in the East.
In the West, the Minnesota Timberwolves—a trendy sleeper team—are expected to miss the postseason by four games.
Note: Four of the five teams in the Atlantic division are expected to make the playoffs.
