In the ACC, Florida State could be poised for first title since 2005; Tar Heels might surprise

BTB Note: Previous over/under win total projections were done for the Big EastBig TenBig 12Pac-12 and SEC

The ACC appears to be a two-team race, with Florida State and Virginia Tech vying for the conference crown.

Last year, the two teams were perceived to be the same but the Seminoles were forced to conquer a more difficult schedule while the Hokies breezed to an 11-1 record, winning seven games by 10 or more points.

Florida State suffered injuries and was ultimately done in by a three-game losing streak that began in late September and continued through the first week of October. The Seminoles won six of their final seven games and finished 8-4.

Today, in the last of BTB’s conference-by-conference win totals projections, we look at the ACC. Both Florida State and Virginia Tech are listed at 9.5, with the Seminoles getting a narrow edge (-150 on the over). Clemson and Georgia Tech are next at 8.5, followed by NC State (8), North Carolina (7) and Miami (6.5).

A full listing of projected over/unders are below.

Oh, last thing: Before you bash North Carolina’s win total projection (you’ll think it’s too high), look at the Tar Heels’ schedule.
