It’s taken the full 17 weeks, but the Seattle Seahawks are finally viewed as legitimate contenders by oddsmakers.
In the latest Super Bowl futures odds released by the LVH SuperBook in Las Vegas, the Seahawks are listed at 8-to-1, right around teams like the 49ers and Texans, both listed at 7-to-1.
It’s by far the best odds all season for Seattle, winners of four in a row by a combined score of 173-47.
In the photo above is the Seahawks’ week-by-week Super Bowl futures odds. Some notable weeks:
Week 3: Jumped from 60/1 to 25/1 after that epic replacement referee meltdown victory over Green Bay.
Week 4: Promptly fell right back to 60/1 with a loss at St. Louis.
Week 8: The best value available all season (80/1) following a 28-24 loss at Detroit.
Weeks 13-16: Odds go from 50/1 to 8/1 after a string of impressive blowout victories.
Is there any value left? Short answer: No. We hope you got the Seahawks earlier than now. If San Francisco beats Arizona at home this weekend as expected, Seattle will be the fifth seed, meaning they’ll likely have to win three straight road games just to get to the Super Bowl. Other teams in similar situations—like the Packers two years ago—have odds at 25-to-1 or higher.
