Who are the DEEPEST teams in the NBA?
Not an expert on NBA but was wondering if any of you experts out there could chime in with your thoughts! Thanks

Define Deep.

Best starting five. 8 deep? 10 deep?

So-so starting lineup, good bench?

Chicago and Oklahoma City come to mind first. I'd toss Memphis right after them along with the Knicks.

If you are talking starting 5's... Miami, LA, Dallas.

Denver is fairly deep, but lacks starpower.

RE: Who are the DEEPEST teams in the NBA?
I think looking at NBA depth means looking at the center position first. That's the thinnest position in the league, so if your second team has a good backup big man, I think that gives you an edge right off.

Utah has E. Kanter and M. Okur backing up A. Jefferson. They also have D. Favors behind Millsap, and a decent set of backup PG's in E. Watson and J. Tinsley.

SAS's second unit: T. Ford, G. Neal, Kawhi Leonard, A. McDyess, and D. Blair.

OKC: Has N. Mohammed and C. Aldrich as backup C's, with J. Harden and 2nd year Lazar Hayward (he had a disappointing debut season) on their second unit.

HOU: Could be an interesting second squad with G. Dragic and J. Flynn backing up the point, Courtney Lee, rookie M. Morris, and H. Thabeet as a backup center.

RE: Who are the DEEPEST teams in the NBA?
I think the deepest is OKC.

OKC: Durant, Westbrook, Harden, Sefolosha, Maynor, Perkins, Ibaka, Collison, Mohammed

They have depth in the backcourt and the frontcourt and if Harden develops like people think they have 3 top-notch scoring options.

I think Indiana is sneaky deep. They don't have great starpower but their rotation is kind of scary.
-Collison, George, Hibbert, Hansbrough, West, Granger, Foster, Rush, and Hill.
That's not a bad goup at all.

On the flip side, I think Boston and NY are the thinnest teams in the league. Both have pretty terrible benches and if a top player goes down, both could be in some trouble.

-Bostons bench: Bass, Wilcox, Pavlovic, Daniels, Booling and Bradley
Pretty poor if you ask me. Losing Jeff Green was a massive blow to this aging squad.

-NYKs bench: Jeffries, Harrellson, Walker, Shumpert and Douglas
Goo!

Just my two cents.

I Agree with San Antonio having a deep team. They have shown they could win on a consistent basis with Duncan getting less minutes and Parker being less than 100%. OKC is definately on the list as well as Chicago.

RE: Who are the DEEPEST teams in the NBA?
Knicks just picked up Baron Davis, so Bibby goes from starter to bench. Jeffries is decent and Shumpert looked excellent in the preseason win over the Nets.

Knicks are an 8 man team... simple as that.

Celtics are in big trouble and you are dead on with Indiana. I like what the Pacers are doing and expect them to make the playoffs this season.

EDIT: Atlanta has some veteran talent on the bench as well. But every season they continue to disappoint. Never got over the hump.

Bibby is a corpse, and B. Davis is corpulent. Shump Shump has confidence, I'll give him that, but he's an untried rookie. In no way are the Knicks a deep team in the way that I would use the term "deep." They have elite talent--which they traded their depth for last year--though, which is more important.

The Nugg's would be the deepest team if they had their Chinese contingent. And I am infatuated with Indiana as well.

RE: Who are the DEEPEST teams in the NBA?
The guy asked about an 8 deep team... Knicks are about that with nothing beyond that. I think you are underestimating B. Davis' abilities, but we shall see.

Still think Portland has a nice squad. Addition of Jamal Crawford to replace Brandon Roy is a nice one. Ray Felton at PG, Aldridge in the middle. This is a good team.

RE: Who are the DEEPEST teams in the NBA?
Chicago has to be one of the deepest teams in the NBA. Starting with Rose, Rip, Deng, Boozer, and Noah. Followed by the Bench Mob that goes Watson, Brewer, Korver, Gibson, and Asik. Add in rookie Jimmy Butler and you have a team that should be solid in a 66 game schedule.
