RE: What is your biggest weakness?
Lack of knowledge relating to geographical constrictions.
Not liking to dwell on losing bets so therefore not analyzing them. @oddsok88 |

Haha, it's a little more difficult to cap CFB and NFL being in Australia where it gets no coverage. I must miss a lot of info that would be crucial to a game just because it's not in front of my face. I do a fair bit of research just to try and keep up to date, but there's only so much I can do! @oddsok88 |

I've only started betting recently and so haven't been betting on the NBL as of yet. I'm watching it and waiting for things to settle down and some trends to emerge before I take the plunge. But there is definitely money to be made. (very average competition though, compared to the NBA that is.) @oddsok88 |

Some would say varying my bet sizes, although I don't think of that as a weakness, as long as you can keep it under control.
My biggest weakness is probably falling for the trap of betting the game that's on TV, rather than searching for value.

RE: What is your biggest weakness?
My bank roll is, without a doubt, my biggest weakness. You can only make so much money with so little to bet. One awful Saturday can be deadly.
Not identifying my edge and betting the right amount of units is also a problem. I do load up on some games more than others, but overall I could be much better at putting the right amount of money in the right place. And........ forcing big plays on random weekday Big East games like a 6pt teaser: Pitt-3/over 36. I must be around 2-20 on weekday football games this year. |

RE: What is your biggest weakness?
I'm vulnerable to making bad plays while tilting. For me, it's sort of ironic because that's something I haven't had issues with playing poker. But if I have a bad weekend, bad swing, or take a bad beat I find myself wanting to bet on games right away before I've gotten over it. Not to the point where I'm betting beyond my bankroll- I don't go that crazy. But I would be better served waiting for games that are simply better plays.

RE: What is your biggest weakness?
Wanting action on to many games instead of properly identifying the best edges and playing those larger. With a very limited bankroll, for a while I was thinking that by playing more games at smaller cost I was reducing volatility that would come with playing 1/3rd the games at 3x the price. While that volatility is somewhat reduced, I end up taking lines I have a slight lean for vs. ones I'm truly confident.

That's one of the toughest things to control, especially if you're playing online. Most books, like 5Dimes, have so many offerings that they can tempt you into playing so many different things; even sports you don't even care about.

RE: What is your biggest weakness?
I'll give u all the answers u desire on another day.. tonight, I'm skunk drunk. Local Pool league tonight, I won the 50/50 draw, plus the 9-Ball Break draw, sick luck! Holding onto the "Things Come In 3's" for the 3rd win next week on a $2500 local draw.. BOOM!
Of the few answers received so far, #1 seems to be "My biggest weakness is my bankroll.." First off, I call COUGH (bullshit) COUGH.. Using your short bankroll as an excuse is a piss poor reason for why you're not a winning sports investor. The attitude is the problem, on how u approach that bankroll. If u had a $100,000 Bankroll and think you could be a winning player, then why can't you be a winning player with a $500 bankroll?? Well.. Cuz.. Most players aren't very patient. They want the big score right away. I can turn a $100,000 Bankroll into $110,000 in 4 weeks.. using the same percentage of bets, you would make that $500 bankroll turn into $550. In 4 weeks. Doesn't seem like much, huh.. Well then bet your wad on a 3-game parley and live or die by the parlay sword. If u wanna be a long-term winning sports investor, get over the ego, get over the attitude, get over the do or die bet attitude. Many of you could be long-term winners, but it's the "I only have a $1000 Bankroll so I need to bet $100 a game in order to see any results".. If you have a $1000 Bankroll, bet $25 a game and you'd be surprised how quickly it adds up. Just be patient for a 6-month window. Anyways, I'm drunk now and I forgot whatever point I was trying to make. I should never leave my laptop on when I go out for the night.. LoL Everyone liked Philly and Colorado tonight.. I bet Montreal & Calgary.. I gotta check how that worked out.. damn I bet Vancouver too.. I'm pretty sure they'll have a big 3rd period tonight and unleash some hate. Orrrrr, they could continue to get crushed. Fuck Vancouver! He's great. Really knows his stuff. Especially team totals for NFL. I'm finding I like CFB much more than NFL though. Maybe just the raw talent and excitement, more games and maybe what I perceive to be a bigger edge. I've noticed NFL is extremely tight when it comes to lines and totals. @oddsok88 |

But apparently a "punter" is a "bettor" in the land down under.. crazy shit down there.. it's like Newfoundland and the rest of Canada up here.. crazy! ![]() Just saw the Vancouver highlights.. this team stinks. Schneider hung out to dry.. I'll look into it, but right now I'm blindly betting Washington -2.5 on Saturday.. Yeah not really, but u get my point.. On Twitter: @kreatture

Mr Lucky,
I really hope you aren't drinking and driving and then using my forum. Believe it or not, your contributions are pretty strong when drunk. I actually think you are BETTER when under the influence. In any case, I'm tossing you a few rep points. This was a good laugh. On Twitter: @beyondthebets |

RE: What is your biggest weakness?
Biggest weakness is patience (like Lucky mentioned). I only keep ~$200 in my account at any time, and it's rough to grind out half of any season for $10-$20 profit. When you look at the real numbers, 5-10% return on a short-term investment is actually pretty good, but when you look at it in terms of real life it's like, "I spent 10 hours a week researching college and pro football games for a month, and barely made enough in profit to pay for a #1 at McDonalds." It's also tough, because that 10% is probably a good return for someone that isn't a professional. So it's not like you can realistically expect to start winning an extra 10-15% of your picks and making more profit just by putting more time/effort in, because people just don't win 60+% of their games. I guess it just comes down to balancing reality with the image you have in your mind about how exciting and fun being a sports bettor is. hahaha
