Wednesday College Hoops
Vtech game ticked me off. just poor FT shooting and then Virginia's poor FT shooting gives Tech a shot to cover but to no avail.

Finding the lines very sharp tomorrow. no short home favs anymore.

did a tease that goes

ending 2/22/12 6:30pm College Basketball 528 Purdue -6 * vs Nebraska
Pending 2/22/12 7:00pm College Basketball 540 Tennessee -2½ * vs Mississippi
Pending 2/22/12 7:00pm College Basketball 550 Akron -3½ * vs Bowling Green
Pending 2/22/12 9:00pm College Basketball 600 Texas A&M +13 * vs Kansas
Pending 2/22/12 7:35pm NBA Basketball 512 New York Knicks -1 * vs Atlanta Hawks
Pending 2/22/12 9:35pm NBA Basketball 523 Los Angeles Lakers +8½ * vs Dallas Mavericks

Like Purdue to win this one easy. Nebraska is a joke and beating the Illini is nothing now. Purdue played well for spurts in their Mich St game. they cannot afford to lose this one for their tourney hopes. Byrd does come back from suspension, gives them a little depth, but they should be too much for Nebraska.

Tenn and Akron are the better teams playing on their home court, I think should win the game by a decent margin. a little worried about Ole Miss. Like the points with A&M. love backing them with points at home. got burned by them vs Mizzou but Mizzou has the guards to score alot on the Aggies. I think this game will be a hard fought one and the pace will be a little slower and getting 13 should be enough.

Just like the Knicks to win this game. Hawks will be without Johnson here, missing Horford already and will probably get back Williams. gonna be tough for them to score here and like the points with the Lakers. They did the players only meeting and teams usually come out unified and strong the next game and I look for them to keep this one close.

Also played the Lakers and A&M because their is in-game wagering at 5dimes for those games and they will be the later ones, so If they are the last 2 games and one or both are close. I could look for opportunities to lock in profit here.

Wish I could give some straight up plays, but the lines don't really scream out

RE: Wednesday College Hoops
Plan on making plays on La Salle (Temple is one of the hottest teams in the country and already getting hit hard; wait until closer to tip for better line) and Wyoming (both Wyo and SDSU off bad losses but think Wyoming hits their three's this time).

Small lean on WVU but I'll wait to see how line moves around.

Looking at minnesota as well. Gophers play well at home. They are also one of the few teams that have bigs that can play with mich st. Should be another grinder.

RE: Wednesday College Hoops
Marquette -11.5: Both a play on a hot Marquette team that's been handling teams since that loss @ ND & a fade of a terrible Rutgers squad. Rutgers is putting up a measly 59 away from the Rock. Marquette puts up 79 and they allow less that Rutgers too. Looking for at least a 15 point win from Marquette. Trip to WVU shouldn’t be on their minds as the mountaineers aren’t lose to them in the standings this season. Line opened at 12 and has moved down .5 Wondering if anymore love will come in on Rutgers and I can get this down to 11.

Wichita St. -5.5 and the Over 138: Wichita St cannot afford a loss here with Creighton on their heels. Plus a win here, a home win vs Drake to end the regular season and a Conf. title and they could be looking at a great seed come tourney time. I like the Over because Wichita actually scores more points on the road, 80ppg. Illinois St ups their avg ppg to 71 at home. I know they only beat Illinois St by 3 and scored a combined 127 the last time out but I think this should be a different game. Wichita just dismantled Davidson and scored 91 in the process. Look for the offense to stay hot.

Small leans on OK State +4 (should be a close game in OK but the Cowboys actually travel pretty well and need a win here for tourney considerations) and Michigan St -5.5 (line is just too small, Minnesota is going the wrong way right now and Michigan St has their eyes on a 1 seed).

RE: Wednesday College Hoops
I like WVU +3 against ND. WVU took care of business on the road against Pitt last week as a small dog, and I look for a similar result tonight.

I've seen a lot of people trying to fade Wichita State and Temple tonight as well. All I can say is good luck. Hopefully if you are one of those people you got the best numbers because they are long gone.

WSU was -6.5, now -5.5. I didn't really understand a play on Illinois St to begin with. They have done less with more all year. Been a pretty disappointing team really. I tried to fade WSU last week getting 11.5 against Missouri State and they got blown out in the 2nd half. I will be staying far away from this one even tho I would have to lean WSU.

Pretty much the same argument goes for Temple really. I was on the fade train this weekend and they proved me and everyone else wrong again. I don't really see how you can fade them when they continue to roll. Oh and fuck the A10 too, I could fade myself and be way ahead picking games in that conference.

RE: Wednesday College Hoops
Louie,

tough to go against ND at home. I have burned in the past going against ND in their building, but this team just plays at another level there and other teams dont show up. WVU is far from the best team that has gone into that building, so its hard to only lay +3 there.

just my two cents

I agree about Wichita St. I would not playing Ill St at all, but wouldn't touch Wich St at that #. I think it's a pure stayaway game. No real edge there. Wichita St is the only team in the MVC that can go out there and beat other teams in that conference road or home by double digits consistently

RE: Wednesday College Hoops
Illinois State played close to Wichita State on the road but Wichita State has been handling teams. I'm not sure where I lean on that game but if I had to make a pick, I'm taking the Shockers.

I'm taking Michigan State. Hot team and Izzo makes it happen in February and March. I'm also liking Kansas. Withey is emerging and they've been a different team with him as a solid presence inside. They beat A&M by 10 at home playing very poorly so I think they should hit the -10.

But then again....I know nothing.

RE: Wednesday College Hoops
Love Marquette giving the 11.5 tonight also. Rutgers is terrible. They played their best game of the year against Cuse on Sunday and I think they're done. On the road against an aggressive defending squad. I see the Scarlet Knights packing it in early tonight.

RE: Wednesday College Hoops
UCF line looks too low. Win gets them to 20. Right in the C-USA hunt because they've beaten Memphis once and play them again. Got it at 1.5, I think it'll be 2 or 2.5 by tip. I hope anyway.

Waiting on UNC-Wilmington. VCU in a sandwich spot. Beat UNI in BracketBuster game, George Mason on deck on Saturday. Beat UNCW by 23 at home in the first matchup, but UNCW had an ungodly 28 turnovers. Definite look-ahead spot, much like Valpo had last night with Loyola Chicago, where they had to go to OT to beat them.

Hoping for 11. Opened at 9.

RE: Wednesday College Hoops
I like Long Beach State -8. They spanked UCSB last time on the road and LB is coming off a tough loss so I think they come out motivated in front of a home crowd. I've also read some things saying App St -4 is a good play so I'm looking at that line against a dreadful Citadel team that just got its first win in a long time.

But then again....I know nothing.

I'm on LaSalle, Wyoming, WVU, Illinois St, UCSB, and a minor play on Minny.
