Tout Zone: TonyCap
Came up on my twitter timeline. Anyone have any information on him?

I had followed him about a year as he was NJ based which had some relevance to me. Over time, he seemed to whine / complain about every game he didn't win. Came to the point where he believed he was on the right side of every line, but he got screwed when a team didn't win.

I also didn't like that he posted nearly all of his plays after kickoff / tipoff / etc... Why even bother talking about them if that's what you are going to do?

I remember reading that he was going to be starting a new website that was going to "change the game"... Anyone know what happened w/ that?

If I'm off base, I'll eat crow, but curious to hear others thoughts.

Tony Cap is hilarious and has to be one of the easiest people ever to make fun of.

He was a frequent subject in this thread.

TonyCap is most definitely not a fan of BTB.

I'm not going to defend Tony C, that guy's a douche, but people do this for a reason. If you're a paying client, you don't want the guy you're paying to be giving out his plays for free on Twitter. If you're someone that thinks he's a fraud, you want him to post all of his plays, so you can track them. The compromise is to post the play right after the game starts so that a) nobody can get the line anymore and you're not giving it away for free, and b) you have "proof" of what your plays were. I see the complaint all the time, but the reasoning is sound to me.

His new website is pickssyndicate.com. A guy doing some behind the scenes work, Nick, has been emailing LineProjector quite a bit.

I haven't been tracking his plays so I couldn't tell you how he's doing. But I will say that they're one of the few I've seen that take advantage of overnight lines. When they release their plays, they also seem to give lines readily available.

This is not an endorsement by any means. Just trying to remain unbiased when it comes to the tout world.

We signed up for his free trial so we could see what kind of product they're offering. Our email address got the attention of their web guy and he checked out our site.

We discussed some of their picks, taking advantage of overnight lines, marketing, etc

We wanted to see if they're more pick based or marketing based compared to others. We also wanted to see what they're betting during the dog days of summer.

Quickly, here's a few pros/cons we've found with Tony C's site compared to other sites. Again, we haven't been tracking their results at all.

Pros
  • takes advantage of overnight lines
  • no cheesy play names
  • lines shown for their picks are readily available at time of release
  • I've never seen more than a 1 or 1.5 unit wager. So no 10 dime play

Cons
  • trial picks are different than "client picks"
  • I haven't found detailed record keeping yet. Just a list of wager numbers and results. No details as far as team, line, etc.
  • They do seem to send out picks <30 minutes before start
