Thursday MLB
Getting the thread up early. Any of the opening lines stand out to anyone?
One that caught my eye right off the bat was the Braves/Reds total being 7 (+100). Delgado is ok, has some good stuff but don't think he's a guy that's going to go into GAB and throw a gem against a hot Reds team that is hitting the ball well and hitting a lot of long balls this series. Bailey also is ok but again don't see him throwing a gem against the Braves at GAB. The Braves should have Chipper back and despite this being the 4th game of the series McCann should be in the lineup as well since he missed Tuesday's nights game with an illness. For an over 7 total to lose, one of these teams is going to have to be held to 2 runs or less. I think there is a very good chance that doesn't happen, so much so that I am playing this one for 1.5 times my normal play. Thoughts? |

RE: Thursday MLB
Wow, just saw that the Reds/Braves total shot to 9 in about 45 minutes. Someone just made a mistake there and was lucky enough to catch it at the open. |

RE: Thursday MLB
wow 7 did seem low.. delgado is the worst pitcher ATL has now and Bailey is very good but inconsistent at times. At that ballpark with two very good lineups 7 was a joke.. thats crazy

RE: Thursday MLB
I've been looking hard at the Tigers/Indians under 7. Verlander versus Masterson. Getaway day for both teams and both play division rivals Friday. Both teams hit worse during day games. Both pitchers have good histories versus their opponents and it's the first time each team has seen them this year. Only notable stat that goes against this- the umpire (Gary Darling) is 9-1 on overs this year (12.30 rpg). However, I think that rpg number is due for some regression.

RE: Thursday MLB
Verlander career era vs Cleve 4.82 Masterson vs Det 5.14.....Verlander allows 1 rbi per 7.5 ab vs current Cleve lineup...Masterson allows 1 rbi per 8 ab vs current Det lineup....and none of that includes unearned runs.....on the other side Masterson hasn't allowed more than 2 runs in any home start this year. This year following a game when Verlander exited a game without allowing a run has allowed no less than 4 runs the next start.... add in the over umpire and I played over 7 +105

Last three years, Verlander's lost once to the Indians with a 2.89 ERA. The Indians beat him up in 2008 and 2007 to skew his career ERA. Follow me: @skatingtripods |

RE: Thursday MLB
I really like CLE at +150. They are a good team and like mentioned above, Masterson is good at home. Good value there. Worth a shot. Let's go Tribe!

Worth a shot. Let's go Tribe! I played it. I was on det yesterday and i thought they would be flat after blowing it yesterday. Tie game top 7, det had em loaded with 0 outs and got nothing' then gave up 2 in bottom half. They're just playing poor baseball right now. I loved the blown bock (sic) today which got Leyland and 1b coach tossed in 5th. So ridiculously obvious, but no call. How the ump missed that is beyond me. |

RE: Thursday MLB
good job guys with clev and the under...
this shows you why BTB is a sharp forum.. If this was covers this thread would of been filled with guys saying "Verlander at -150, oh what a lock", or lets play the over cause Detroit has Cabrera and Fielder and those guys can get the # itself.. :) solid. |

The lineup that actually beat him is hilariously pathetic. Well, not today's. But the Sept. 29, 2010 lineup. They somehow managed 4 runs in 7 innings...while striking out 10 times. Brantley Trevor Crowe Choo Duncan Jordan Brown Jayson Nix Luis Valbuena Drew Sutton Marson That has to be the worst lineup ever with a win over Verlander. Follow me: @skatingtripods |
