Wager minds gave you their top 17. I was surprised the top 4 are ESPN employee's, not a company I tie to sports betting. Do you have a top 10? Mine (In no particular order after #1)...

To be fair to WagerMinds, the RASPicks account has, like, a dozen tweets in the last two months.
Hard to call it a "glaring" omission. Not exactly active and visible. On Twitter: @beyondthebets |

Not sure if it should be based on the past few months, generally a slow time of year for sports betting with only the NBA playoffs representing the big four sports (NFL/CFB/CBB/NBA). We have tweeted close to 150 plays in the past year or so, each one significantly "influencing" the market. If the list was described as anything but "influential" I probably wouldn't have taken exception to it. It is clear we influence the market (as much or more than anyone else on Twitter), what do the others influence? I'll stand by my statement! Twitter: @raspicks |

You made the list because you spend your days betting on sports and openly sharing information. If someone has a question on a line, you'll respond. Do you think if the casual bettor asks Simmons/Millman/Cowherd/Rovell a question, they'd receive an educated response? Haha, not. It's not often you get a raw look at someone who does this daily, unless you count the meltdowns that the Tony guy has or whatever his name is. My list included people from all sides of the industry (Behind the counter, occasional bettor, daily bettor, site that covers betting, etc.). I'm not going to put someone like Cowherd or Simmons on there because they're not educating the market, they're offering their opinions, and they're usually misinformed. (Aside from his blazing 5, I suppose bettors who can suffer through his show do enjoy that.) As for Millman, I suppose he should be on the list. He ran with this subject when ESPN allowed it. I just find him to be nauseating and gave up on his material over a year ago. So recommending him would be a little back-handed. ViewFromVegas, Fezzik, and Stuckey2 are great follows. I left them off because I don't follow them. VFV and Stuckey2 give me a little too much info, Fezzik disappears at times. (07-12-2012 11:52 AM)Edward-RAS Wrote: I'll stand by my statement! I think you're making way too big a deal over this. ![]() The list clearly isn't trying to rank a person - or outlet's - ability to influence the betting market. -Scott Van Pelt doesn't tweet "plays." -David Purdum regularly admits that he bets $10 or $20 per game. -Todd Fuhrman doesn't disclose information about his book or about games that would "influence" the market. So, while the list is perhaps poorly phrased, I don't understand how you're viewing the exclusion of RAS Picks as ill conceived. The list, as I understand it, was meant to highlight or showcase sports betting folks who are active on Twitter and who put out information (or plays) regularly. Sure, most on the list have decently large followings, but the common thread is that all are active daily and visible on Twitter. RAS Picks, again, has four tweets since June 1st. Surely you can see how WagerMinds might have "forgotten" about the account. To be honest, I had completely forgotten about it, too. On Twitter: @beyondthebets |

Agree, it was poorly phrased (description) for what it was, because again, what do the people on this list influence? If he had called it fun, informative, interesting, social, even sharp would have been less of a stretch. That was my biggest complaint about the whole thing. Wagerminds interviewed and featured us in an article last year, and people who work there subscribe to our service. We just tweeted a WNBA 2h winner six days ago. They definitely should be aware of the account. Twitter: @raspicks |

RE: The Top 17 Most I.P.O.T.F.S.B.
The takeaway from this shouldn't be, "We were left off a silly subjective list that has zero relevance and is completely unimportant in the grand scheme of things."
Instead, it should be, "We are a good service, we have good information, and perhaps we can make ourselves more visible publicly by tweeting more than once per week on average, that way more people are aware of how amazing we are." On Twitter: @beyondthebets |
