I'm the same way as you in that regard. I don't do it for accolades, and I don't care when other people get actively frustrated with me, because my sarcastic nature is set up for those kinds of situations.

I just hate the thought of someone else losing their money because of me. My brain knows that they make their own decisions, but for some reason it refuses to acknowledge that. Instead I have crazy thoughts like, "What if some idiot put his house payment on that play?! What if some guy is going to owe his bookie a ton of money and get his fingers broken if this loses?! FML, I hope they cover!" I'm pretty sure I'm insane.
