RE: The Bad Beat Thread
I had some money on Spurs +5 in game. The shitty part was I trying to bet +5.5 and I couldn't get the bet on phone in on time because 5dimes was resetting the line every time. I had to try 3 times but all I could get was +5, but I still liked that #

When I saw him hit the 3, I immediately thought that was after the buzzer but was hoping no one cared and counted it LOL but obviously everyone is aware now that every point counts because of the gambler and reversed it

Had this one too

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/sportsbus...id=1775505

"When Duke senior Chris Duhon nailed a 38-foot three-point shot off one leg as time expired in the semifinal game against the University of Connecticut on Saturday night, the Blue Devils still lost the game. But to those who wagered on the blue and white, the fortuitous bank shot that made the final score 79-78 meant that the underdogs covered the spread, which was between two and three points."

Weird, I didn't realize Darren Rovell was a writer for ESPN.com before becoming mega-Twitter douche CNBC guy. LOL

Win by Decision / Straight Up win on Manny Pacquio could be the bad beat of the year.

When I saw there was a new post in this thread, I thought someone was going to say they had the Reds last night.

RE: The Bad Beat Thread
Ugh. This one HURT. Had a rough day on Saturday and I thought to myself "if I can just find one big underdog...just one...I'll bounce back big". That underdog was the Cleveland Indians at +190.

They were up early 3-1, Tigers came back to tie it at 3-3, Indians then go up 4-3, then Tigers tie it at 4-4.

Indians score one in 7th to go up 5-4.
Tigers get one in bottom of 7th. 5-5.

Indians score THREE in top 10. Go up 8-5.

Bottom of the 10th goes like this...
pop up. 1 out.
ground out. 2 out.
Walk
Walk
Double (scores one. 8-6 Indians)
Single (scores two, 8-8)
Home Run

Why is it that I never seem to be on the winning end of one of these types of games? Whenever I'm down in a game to the point where I think it's 100% over, I always think to myself "maybe they'll make one of those improbable comebacks!"

Never happens though. Ugh!!!

The Vikings are down 13 - 3 with 1.30 left in the 4th quarter, with all scrubs left in the game, and I've pretty much given up hope, when Joe Webb miraculously rips a 43 yard TD run to make it 13 - 10 and put the Vikings in line for a potential cover.

I am ecstatic. When the Niners recover the ensuing onside kick and set up in victory formation, I figure this one to be a settled wager. But for some reason Brad Childress keeps burning timeouts, and three kneels later, Andy Lee has to come back out and punt the ball back to the Vikings with 9 seconds left in the game. Still, nothing to worry about, as the Niners have no intention of doing anything but make sure everyone gets off the field healthy. In typical Andy Lee fashion, he sticks one on the 5 yard line.

This should've ended the game, but because the game clock stopped before the ref whistled the ball dead, there's still time for one more play.

Again, though, what's the worst that could happen?

Joe Webb takes the snap, backpedals, looks down field, and as the clock expires, HE TAKES A KNEE IN THE ENDZONE. Safety. The final score: Niners 15 Vikings 10.

Joe Webb giveth, Joe Webb taketh away.

LOL

Best one in this thread by far...

RE: The Bad Beat Thread
I thought there were one of these threads before because I remember posting a bad beat story. Anyway, I can't remember if it was 08 or 09 college basketball season, but Kentucky was at UNC and the spread was around 25. This was when Billy Clyde was coaching at UK. UK was bad, but they still had some talent on the team, ie: Meeks, Patterson. UNC had a solid 15-20 point lead the whole game. At the end of the game, UNC had a 26 point lead and Kentucky had a break away layup in the closing seconds and bricked a wide open layup.

The only thing I have to say about this, is thank God for Calipari because if I had to root for a team coached by Billy Clyde any longer, I don't know what would've happened.
