Suggestions wanted
What type of articles would you like to see more of, less of? What changes would you like to see on the forum? (other than more activity, which will come eventually). Other thoughts or suggestions?

Basically, point out anything you like or hate. I'm here to please. Hopefully this site has helped you become a bit more informed or has helped you win a few wagers.

If not, my bad. Frustrated

I think you've done a great job. I love checking out the blog and reading the articles. I think you've done a great job changing it up and giving us insight. I know I've learned a lot already, and although I'm relatively young and have ridiculous amounts to learn, I'm no beginner either.

I like the variety, don't have any real suggestions, but will throw one out if I come up with anything.

Thanks for your hard work!

All good to me!

Technical, small not important thing, sorry for nitpicking... Is there an option to show the newest/most recent post first instead of last? I know most forum platforms have it and I'm just accustomed to clicking on the subject instead the last page of the thread

RE: Suggestions wanted
Since I am new to this and have been going off a friend and his picks as he points out in a paragraph or so explaining his picks, I would like to see some information for beginners. I am not saying all the time but maybe something every couple of weeks. Maybe explain something in detail so a beginner can understand it and possibly use it in the future.

RE: Suggestions wanted
First things first. I absolutely love the site. Being relatively new to the game it accomplishes goal #1 which you mentioned in a recent post--it keeps me constantly engaged. I have found the articles to be very insightful, the people on the message boards to be friendly and knowledgeable, and the information to be top notch.

Keep up with more of the same!

So as not to be a complete butt kisser I did think of one idea, which may not be all that insightful to most of your members as it seems like most everyone does their betting online. I have a few online accounts as well, but am still somewhat hesitant to bet large amounts online.

So I still plan a few trips out to vegas well in advance around certain games/matchups I like. Maybe you could do a feature on the different books in vegas.

Where to get the best lines. It seems to me like you're always paying a little more for favorites at the Harrahs/Caesars places, and you always have to check out the Wynn--bc its independent?--and the Cosmo--bc they say they will take any amount from anyone--would love to see that theory tested in real life. Venetian used to be a great place for MMA lines, now it seems crappy. Where to watch games on a football weekend? etc...

No clue if these observations are even close, but hopefully they get my idea across.

Thx for all you do!

In the meantime, there are a couple of threads with a lot of good beginner information.

Here and here.

Scan through those. Post any questions in either thread. It's a pretty outstanding collection of people here and almost all of them are willing to help you on a level that you'll be able to understand.

Welcome aboard.

I agree with Lucky, where do we start? Do you just want them listed here? Start new threads for them? LOL

You obviously have some vision for the website, as it has taken off and created a good following. You moved out to Vegas, I'm assuming you believed would only help the site. Are there things you want to explore?

I know, I can't just turn the question around, since you would like some feedback, here goes...

*Someone mentioned doing some things in Vegas. I believe someone had also mentioned earlier talking to some of the oddballs in the sportsbook. You have some journalism background, I think you could create some pretty entertaining insights at some happenings there. I've only spent 90 hours of my life in Vegas but some of those characters say things I've only heard from truckers in a strip club.

*Give some insight on in-game and/or 1st Half/2nd Half betting? You went in depth on teasers. Any others similar to that you can expand on?

*Handicapper's Toolbox Part II Shades

*Any more interviews planned? It takes 2 and I'd say this is the busiest time of the year for the industry, so even tougher. But some of the back-and-forths you've had with websites have been great.

*Can you get us a coffee maker?

RE: Suggestions wanted
Great Website. Great Forums. Great community thats being built.

- Like Littlefinger said, would love to get some vegas-centric perspectives on different sportsbooks around town along with any other info on all things Vegas.

- Perhaps more contests, daily and otherwise. Not neccessarily to win anything but just to kinda butt heads with one another and find ways to improve and learn from others. I guess any member can set up any free contest of their choice. Doesnt neccessarily have to be BTB. Dont know if this is a good medium for that, but it seems like the contests that have happened so far have gone well with high participation levels.

- If there is someway to distinguish between people's rep points and actual handicapping percentage. Like if I'm reading somebody's predictions or insight I wanna know what they've done in the past, and that they're not some jack-ass like me who's 50-50 most of the time but keeps throwing out his opinion.

RE: Suggestions wanted
I thought of an idea for a new style of thread that runs daily / weekly like the expert picks and week x football plays. The thread would be titled "What am I missing?" People can post lines that they think are way off base, and then others can respond with their reasoning on why the line is like it is, or agree with the poster that the line is a mistake. Maybe even after the game, if the pick misses, come back and explain "what you missed".

I haven't started it yet; anyone can start one, just wanted to get the idea out before I forgot. We kind of started one yesterday with the upcoming NYG/ARI game.

RE: Suggestions wanted
What are your options with board structure?

Someone mentioned adding something to show how people pick. Sort of 2 reputations: 1 for your knowledge, 1 for picking. For example, I don't normally post plays (I believe 0-2 Best Bets) but I do enjoy posting information, having 2 reputations would differentiate those.

How much structure can the main page have? You've tagged a couple as important but then it's a free-for-all. We have a Best Bet Thread that updates daily, so that is normally found towards the top but moves up and down. There are weekly threads (CFB expert picks, observation, line movements, etc) that mixed in with random daily threads.

And basketball season will be here before we know it so we'll have:
CFB
NFL
CBB
Hockey
Hopefully not NBA
And others all just thrown in together...

Can the board be split into Important Threads - NFL Threads - CFB Threads, etc.

Maybe even put the CFB Expert under "Important"? Or create a new thread that only has the picks so it's clean and questions/comments in a thread under "Normal Threads"?

Without knowing the capabilities you have with the structure, hard to make concrete suggestions. Hopefully these suggestions didn't add confusion.

RE: Suggestions wanted
Can you create new forums for the sports so people can find information under new forums? Then also have one main forum like this for other information.
