Interesting that in 2009, 43.2% on Actual nets you +$8.5k, and in 2010, 43.1% nets you -$2.6k.

Hi Mount,

I had noticed that prior to posting as well and double checked.

Just FYI, in 2009 there were 25 more winning Dogs of >= +171 than in 2010.

RE: Stuff YOU want answered but want OTHERS to look up
Hey guys, i was wondering if anyone knew where i can find archived week by week Vegas power rankings from last year or past years (or another sharp power rankings)? I have ESPN's archived 'square' power rankings and was looking to compare and contrast---look at large differences in the sharp vs. square rankings and see if can find any trends and value with ATS numbers.

Thanks for any help!

*** NOTE - CORRECTED ROUNDING ERROR ***

SkatingTripods had asked us how much variance we would see for football ATS results if the outcomes were calculated using Opening Lines instead of the Closing Lines.

We ran some numbers and posted the findings on our blog which can be found here,

Using Opening Lines/Totals Instead Of Closing Lines/Totals, How Much Variance Would We See In The Results For NCAAF and The NFL?

Feel free to let us know if you have any questions.

BTB story ideas, news tips, etc.
Hey BTB, I have a question that maybe you can research for us.

With the MLB season winding down and teams are looking to clinch a postseason berth, I was wondering how teams do when they have a chance to clinch and conversely, how they do the game after they clinch. I would guess fading a team the game after they clinch might be profitable, but don't have any info on it. Do you know or have you read anywhere anything about this?

/I'll hang up now. Appreciate you taking my call.

reviving this: does anyone happen to have (or know where I could find) a list of all 1-A homecoming games for the last 5+ years? One thing I'm hoping to investigate over the coming offseason is if / how much of an effect homecoming has on team play.
