Stuff YOU want answered but want OTHERS to look up
I get questions on Twitter from time to time, random questions, dumb questions, interesting questions, and so on. They are usually something like the one I just got a few minutes ago: "What is Bill Belichick against the spread off a loss?"

Now, this would have taken the asker five minutes to look up himself, but since I was mildly curious, and because I had a few spare minutes, I decided to look it up for him.

The answer: Belichick is 11-5 ATS over the last five years off a loss.

* * *

If there's ever something you want looked up, but don't have the time or the drive (or the know-how) to find the answer yourself, post it here and hopefully somebody will look it up for you.

I suppose ideas for posts on the site could come from this thread, too. Posts like this one.

What would your expected outcome be backing a huge m/l favorite, like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, to win every game over the course of a season? They're generally enormous favorites, but they also win an overwhelming majority of their games.

I actually read something about this in a forum once.. I'll try to find the link quick..

But here are the findings (if I remember correctly): Man U has been the most profitable team for some time now. LOL

ok.. let me look quick

I'm a big soccer guy too.. but the "stats" were a little surprising.. I don't like betting Man U straight up since you have to risk so much money. It's better to wait for them to play an EPL team like Chelsea/Man City or SPL team like Barca/Real Madrid

then again, the homer in me would want to take the Sky Blues every time Dance

That's pretty funny actually. The real question is what is Belicheck's record ATS coming off a loss with extra time to prepare for a game? I don't know for sure what it is, but I would guess it's an even better winning percentage than 11-5. Of course, it probably hasn't happened that much so the sample size is going to be a rather small one.

I'm going to look this up and I will post it later.

RE: Stuff YOU want answered but want OTHERS to look up
Is there an online database of CFA and/or NFL game-level team-level data (i.e. for each game, giving team's # of plays, yards, turnovers, 3rd down conversions, etc as well as the score of the game)? I'd love to be able to play with data like this for - say - every CFA game since 2005 (or heck, even just last year) but am hoping there's an easier way to get the data than having to look through individual box scores and enter into Excel (or R or whatever I'm using). Any help appreciated.

Reverse bet example

Bet $20 on Eagles -3 to win $40.
Bet $20 on Dolphins -1 to win $40

Hit both, you win $80.

Hit 1 out of 2, you lose $20.

Hit 0 out of 2, you lose $40.

* * *

Round robin parlay example

Let's say these are your three bets:

Eagles -3
Bears -6
Dolphins -1

When you round robin, you are parlaying every possible combination based on the desired number of teams. If you want a two-team round robin, your bets would be ...

#1 Eagles -3 / Bears -6
#2 Eagles -3 / Dolphins -1
#3 Bears -6 / Dolphins -1

What is a good website that shows teams records ats over the past 5-10 years? All I have been able to find is the last 20 games so far.

Is there a website that anyone uses to print off lines? I always end up printing some with no structure to them and a little more difficult to read.

Find me here.

Is there anyone reliable that provides a power-ranking of NCAAF/NFL coaches?

Is there anyone reliable that provides a power-ranking based on current NCAAF rosters according to recruiting strength?

Phil Steele's FBS Team Pages have a link to a .pdf with results of the last 20 years.

Or, Covers individual team pages and then click on the Past Results Tab. You'll have to calculate the records yourself.

You can probably pay for premium coverage at Rivals.com and get that information.

As for free, I can't help you there.

What, specifically, are you after regarding ATS records from previous years? In other words, what are you hoping to find?

RE: Stuff YOU want answered but want OTHERS to look up
I was wondering, which team, and coach have been the best at covering as DD home dogs or DD road dogs. From 2000 to 2011.

I know that some coach's always make sure their team shows up for big games, les miles, but les is also pretty terrible at covering ats vs the sec conference.

Any coaches you know have proven records to not lay down or give up.. Etc

Sounds like a random rant, haha.

I was just going to post Belicheck's numbers ATS when he has more than 1 week to prepare (Monday night games, coming off bye weeks including playoffs, first game of the season, Superbowl), and his numbers ATS when he has more time to prepare and he is coming off a loss.

RE: Stuff YOU want answered but want OTHERS to look up
Here are the numbers:
Since 2004-2005 season Belicheck is 7-3 ATS coming off a loss when he has extra time to prepare. That would include the 1st game of the season (if he lost the last game in the previous year), any Monday night game, any Sunday game if they played on Thursday the week before, any bye week.

Coming off a win or loss with extra time to prepare, he is 12-11-2 since 2004-2005 season.

This information probably isn't all that helpful, but I was curious what the numbers were.
