RE: Stuff YOU want answered but want OTHERS to look up
Just a thought ... how do teams fare ats in the nfl after getting blown out? Not sure where you could define the term "blowout" in the nfl, but maybe 21 points? I know the Bucs got blitzed by 45 last weekend at SF, and now only 10 percent of the public is backing them as 4.5-point home underdogs to New Orleans this weekend.

Based on another thread. It would be interesting to know how teams do when facing a triple option attack for the 2nd (or even 3rd if applicable) time in a season. I know there are many other factors to consider (ie. Army not typically as strong as others), but how they fare YPC against and more importantly ATS.

I think one issue with this question is that, most of the time, your sample is going to consist of only service academies who run the triple option against each other and then Notre Dame.

One example I found was Temple 2009. Lost 27-13 at home to Army and then lost 27-24 at Navy the next week.

Except for each other and Army, I didn't see any common opponents between Air Force and Navy over the last three years.

I'll try to look at GA Tech and the three service academies later. I don't know what FCS schools run the triple option, though I'm sure they're more frequent.

And we'll see how SDSU fares tonight getting their third look at one.

Good point. I can't believe more schools don't play 2 services Evil Shake

I don't think the services themselves count since they can go against it everyday in practice. Thanks skating tripods.

Auburn +22.5

Who is the last National Champ to be a 20-pt underdog the following season?

I'd like to know the ATS records of the 3 service acadamies when catching 30 or more points. I would think it would be good. Who wants to crush Army or Navy by 40 points. Its kind of unamerican, right?

I'm both a nerd and I bet on Air Force last weekend so I looked this up.

You're on to something here. Not a whole lot of games that are 30+, so I took 27+ for the three service academies.

Since 2000, it's a 14-4 ATS record, including Air Force's cover as 30-point underdogs last weekend at Boise State. (It includes six Navy games, 11 Army games, and only the one Air Force game.)

I feel like these teams' styles might have something to do with this as well (running the ball a lot and eating up a lot of clock, making it harder for the opponent to put up a ton of points).

Full results below... Might be interesting to look even further back or expand it to 21 or more.

2011
Air Force +30 @ Boise St … L 37-26 (W)

2008
Army +27 @ Texas A&M … L 21-17 (W)

2006
Army +29 @ Notre Dame … L 41-9 (L)
Army +28 vs. Texas A&M … L 28-24 (W)

2005
Army +27.5 @ B. College … L 44-7 (L)

2003
Army +31 @ TCU … L 27-0 (W)
Army +31 @ L’Ville … L 34-10 (W)
Army +28 @ Cincy … L 33-29 (W)
Army +28.5 @ Air Force … L 31-3 (W)
Army +28 @ Hawaii … L 59-28 (L)

2002
Army +28 @ L’Ville … L 45-14 (L)
Army +29 vs. S. Miss … L 27-6 (W)
Navy +29 @ B. College … L 46-21 (W)
Navy +27.5 vs. Notre Dame … L 30-23 (W)
Navy +27 @ Wake Forest … L 30-27 (W)

2001
Navy +28.5 @ Toledo … L 21-20 (W)
Navy +27 @ Notre Dame … L 34-16 (W)

2000
Navy +27 vs. TCU … L 24-0 (W)

Total record: 14-4

Some information on college basketball coaches? All the preview magazines don't have much depth for the coaching staff.

Yeah, my question was definitely worded incorrect. I want ALL information on the coaches. Where they sleep/eat/hang out. [Image: reading.gif]

But I look forward to an article on 5 guaranteed impact coaches.

Different 'emoticon banks' from the world wide web. Also, a guy also used to post strictly-emoticons in a forum and sent me an e-mail with some.

How much of a factor does experience actually play in early season college basketball games? Any chance we could get team's early season ATS numbers who are starting freshman or first time starters versus teams returning 3 or more starters?

That would actually be pretty interesting, Kevin. One thing I always look for, particularly early in the season, is finding out who has a senior or returning point guard. It's so critical in the early-going and can really speed up the growth process for a team that's extremely young and inexperienced.

I would love to know when top 10 (or ranked) teams in College football don't cover the spread, how far they fall short?

I'm exploring the idea of teasing top 10 teams together and wondering if there is any merit to it.

Typically, Teasing College games is a -Ev proposition.. I can't imagine this would be a winning formula..

What are NFL teams records ATS in the first half only? I've picked up on a trend with the Redskins and Bucs who have been godawful in the first halves of games.

I am an old dog but am trying to modernize my old fashioned ways. I realize that databases like Iskoe and Meyers exist and are for purchase. Any suggestion on CBB for purchase out there? And actually is there any type of programs that can run simulations based on your query?
