Shut down the bookie!
So after the Giants game this weekend I got this from my local bookie I bet with...

"I'm going to have to settle up and take some time off since I took such a big hit on the super bowl" LOL

Is is bad I'm excited about this? Now I just have to find somewhere else to throw my money away. Maybe actually take the plunge and go online?

RE: Shut down the bookie!
Seems like he shouldn't have been in the bookie business if he can't afford to take a hit on one game.

No kidding. His betting range was between 25-200 for games and said he lost 8,000 when the giants won. Don't think I'll be back with him when/if he decides to open back up!

Sounds like he stayed at 3.5 a little too long.

DJ, curious if you're from the NY area, and how long your guy has been around. Makes a little more sense if he has to take a break if he hasn't been around long and is saturated in the NY market.

Actually Arkansas. I would have thought the money would have been pretty evenly spread here but I guess not. I've been with the guy for about 2 years, and I don't think he has been open much longer than that.

If he is quitting ask to take his players, you will be better off in the long run.

RE: Shut down the bookie!
An experienced guy would have layed off some of his NYG action if it was too big to handle. Sounds like he took a shot and missed.
