Shady incident with 5Dimes
I'm trying to deposit money with 5dimes. It isn't going through and they told me to call the bank processor. The bank says my account is clear and that there's something wrong on the merchant's end. I had my banker and 5dimes on at the same time. He kept denying there was something wrong with them and when the banker asked the name of the company, he suddenly stopped answering. No hang up. Just went silent. What the hell is going on? They're losing out on my money here, their loss.

I've had no issues using Western Union there, which they reimburse you for. Money hits your account within 24 hours, usually sooner.

I'm not looking to withdraw. I'm trying to deposit and they're having an issue with that. Mysteriously, the customer service representative, a total jerk, wouldn't even reveal the name of this company when my banker was just trying to resolve the issue so they can have MY money in THEIR pocket.

You wanted 5Dimes to tell your American bank that your money was going to an offshore sportsbook?

What an asshole. Just got a guy on the line who said "We will not speak to someone from a 3rd party. Call me back." So when I call back, they will say to call the bank, and the bank will say to call the merchant, and this fucking cycle will continue. I'm done with 5dimes.

My thoughts exactly

RE: Shady incident with 5Dimes
Well I was caught between a rock and a hard place. On one end the merchant is telling me to call the bank. On the other the bank is telling me to call the merchant. I never uttered the words "sportsbook". Since they use VISA as their processor, VISA is aware that they exist, they just aren't sure for what. That's how I planned to keep it.

Did they take the money from your account? Or you just can't get it to go through?

I'm no longer eligible for a credit card deposit. They told me it was a management decision.

It just didn't go through. Alright, onto the next offshore. I hope I'm able to withdraw from them if I end up winning.

Can do that too, but I was a little turned off by this whole ordeal. I just did what I was told the whole time without revealing who they were and what not.

Oh well! Thanks for the help guys.

For other people that are running into the same problem, I have friends that buy international pre-paid Visa cards and use them with no problems. It's a risk free method, b/c if 5Dimes declines the transaction for some reason, you can still use the pre-paid card to pay for gas, groceries, etc.

Usually you can find them in gas stations; I think Speedway carries them if you have any around.

No disrespect, JMR, but can you really blame 5Dimes for not wanting to speak to a representative from your bank? I mean, come on. LOL

I understand that you're frustrated, but there isn't a single offshore rep who is taking that call.

RE: Shady incident with 5Dimes
Hey Mount,

I have tried this once before and 5dimes doesn't use it because the the card doesnt have my name on it???

I tried using it through moneybookers but then I had too many cards registered after the 3 prepaid card I used lol.

Do you have to explain to them that you are using a prepaid VISA card? or do the cards that you buy register your name? I know those ones has some fees attached to them that almost equal a WU transaction

RE: Shady incident with 5Dimes
