Saturday MLB
Finally had my first winning day of the season yesterday, it only took a week! Now, no looking back.

Full slate in the NL tomorrow.

Cubs @ Cardinals - 1:05 P.M. EST

Cardinals playing good, Cubs not so much. Cards with very good numbers against Volstad, Lynn not much history vs the Cubs but looked good in his first start. Cards should be a heavy favorite here. Don't think I'll play anything unless the Cards were for some reason a short favorite.

Reds @ Nationals - 4:05 P.M. EST

Nats now alone in first place in the NL East. Not a big fan of Homer Bailey, Jackson with some mixed results against Reds hitters. Votto, Bruce and Ludwick a combined 1-18 against him. Could play on the Nats if they get tapped as a small favorite.

Mets @ Phillies - 4:05 P.M. EST

Phillies bats coming around after starting the season cold. Mets looked good in the first series against Braves but are coming back down. Don't like the Mets offense without Wright and think Neise is a solid pitcher. Will look to play under here if an 8.5 gets posted.

Brewers @ Braves - 7:05 P.M. EST

Marcum looked good in two start against the Braves last season while Minor got hit pretty hard in his only start against the Brew Crew. If Brewers get tapped as an underdog here I will play them, will actually probably play them anything under -110 as well.

Astros @ Miami - 7:05 P.M. EST

Interested to see how the Marlins play Friday night. Seems like they're just not on track right now but playing a series against Houston can always help, just like it did the Braves earlier in the week. Astros that have faced Big Z have had good success while the Marlins key batters have good stats against Norris. Could look towards and over play here as I don't think either of these bullpens are great and neither are the starters.

D'Backs @ Rockies - 8:10 P.M. EST

Watched the Rockies first game when Chacin started and he didn't have good stuff. Colmeneter was banged around when pitching at Coors yesterday. Both teams hitting the ball fairly well. This one has Over written all over it but assuming we'll see a high total anyway and I'm not much of an Over bettor as it is. Will probably lay off unless for some reason a total of 8.5 gets posted but I expect we'll see 9.5 or 10 at the open.

Pirates @ Giants - 9:05 P.M. EST

Where is the Pirates offense going to come from outside of Cutch? Zito looked great at Coors in his opener but he's always had good success for one reason or another against the Rockies. I'd imagine the Giants will be a decent sized favorite and not wanting to back the Pirates right now. Will probably pass on this one.

Padres @ Dodgers - 9:10 P.M. EST

Dodgers look really good so far this season, Padres not so much. Lilly with mixed results against the Padres but has good numbers against the key guys in their lineup. Joe Weiland making his major league debut so not sure what to expect there. Dodgers should be a heavy favorite and I'm backing the Padres Friday not and don't think I'll want to do it again Saturday with a rookie on the mound against the hottest team in baseball. Will probably lay off this one unless for some crazy reason the Dodgers are -130 or less.

RE: Saturday MLB
I bet Washington for the reasons BetATL mentioned.

Also bet Baltimore and Houston because my model told me to and I'm a sucker.

Love the Brewers at that price. I'm not sure Atlanta is totally right in any aspect of the game right now. I'll continue to bet against them until they prove me wrong. Really like Marcum too.

Also like Colorado. Not a fan of the juice, but Collmenter is the type of pitcher who can get absolutely pounded at Coors. Last year his FB rate was 47%. That's very, very high. Gotta figure he gives up some bombs in this game.

I like A's, Yankees and Mets at those numbers... I think Baltimore and Houston are great prices too.

Have you seen my baseball? @dogsonlyplease

RE: Saturday MLB
Agree on the A's. The Reds opened with a really good number against Washington (Edwin Jackson). Jackson is can be good, but really he's just a high K guy. Think the Reds will give him trouble.

RE: Saturday MLB
I like Niese tomorrow vs the Phils. Their lineup is awful and Niese is a break our candidate this year. Worley is good, but those are odds are totally worth it. This is with my Mets homerism aside, btw, heh. Also a big fan of Marcum and the Brew Crew as well!

RE: Saturday MLB
like the rays to bounce back tomorrow. think the number is right to pull the trigger. hellickson has looked good this year, and I'm not sold on buchholz. may play the twins tomorrow, too. think they can hit darvish.

RE: Saturday MLB
I agree with CTA CAT on the Rays. I think they should give Buchholz trouble and I love Hellickson. Also pulled the trigger on Nats as a short favorite.

RE: Saturday MLB
Is Hellickson 100% healthy? He was sent to the hospital a couple of days ago after getting hit in the head with a ball during BP. Wonder if that will have any impact on his outing.
