Speaking for myself, I was after the truth, and there were many inconsistencies surrounding the Sarah Phillips story - inconsistencies that surfaced almost immediately after her hire. Girl, boy, wolf, whatever, this person was a known scammer and did a lot of bad to a lot of people. Editors at both Covers and ESPN didn't give a shit about their readers, and essentially gave this person a platform to build her brand and to expand her empire in the face of dozens of questions that should have at the very least provoked a full review of her background, credentials, etc. On Twitter: @beyondthebets |
