RE: Sarah Phillips of ESPN
I firmly believe certain people are outraged because they had this imagination that they were "in" with a beautiful woman who loved sports betting. If this were a guy named Tim Phillips, no one would care.
Whether its BeyondTheBets or whoever other people tried to talk to her, these people had this thing in their head that they had some type of connection with Sarah Phillips. And now that it came out that she was really a he or she was just tricking people, now everyone is up in arms. But its the same people who are outraged that were desperate to believe she was real so fulfill some fantasy in their heads. I read some of her articles, followed her on Twitter, but its the Internet. If anyone is really stunned that you can be duped on the Internet, then you are going to be in for many rude awakenings. I'm not condoning any of her actions, but everyone is making far bigger of a deal than it really is. And it's because everyones fantasies were stomped on. |
