Or he/she/it works for the service and is taking advantage of the ESPN role and its visibility.

Somebody needs to set the O/U on the truth about "her" coming out.

I can attest to her deleting her gambling tweets after they lose. I've been taking screen shots every time it happens. I'm determined to get to the bottom of this, mainly because I am the biggest conspiracy theorist on Planet Earth.

With that said: Where was she when Kennedy died?

Anybody want to formally track Sarah Phillips Twitter picks? Say... starting December 1? Get a clean month of tracking the picks and then see what "she" claims her record is for the month?

I've got some already.

What I don't understand: who is the girl in her twitpic? Is it an ESPN employee? Random person? Covers employee? And who was the girl in that video she posted on sarahphi.com?
that sounds really creepy -- but I feel like the detective in Red Dragon that just put the pieces together that Hannibal is the murderer he's been looking for.

I'd like to see every single play of her's posted in this thread... and then the final result. Let's do a full and accurate tracking.

Would also love to compare her "picks" to that of the EA Sports Consultants. Some have mentioned she is taking their picks directly and claiming them as their own... let's see how it plays out.

Looks like she may have wised up.

SarahPhilli @SportsJoe I stopped posting plays other than what's in my column. Too many cry babies on Twitter! Ruined the fun.

That isn't outlandish, seeing @beyondthebets and @thebiglead interact with each other, as well as @thebiglead and @sarahphilli.

I got blocked for this...

"@SarahPhilli I assume there are losing tickets you have that you don't post pictures of?"

That's after winning one of "her" contests, and having to send multiple emails to finally get my "money".

RE: Sarah Phillips of ESPN
She was busted months ago for lifting images off the internet of hot girls, claiming she was them. That's when she lost her credibility on Covers. Somebody found the picture from her column on another site called Hot Girls with Douchebags.

She still wouldn't go away. She would post plays in the forums. When she had a winning week, she would post the record. Those were few and far between. She stopped posting records once she was losing a lot, then stopped posting plays all together and claimed to be winning boatloads of money. A lot of respected posters left Covers because of her presence.

A Covers moderator told me that towards the end she got involved with some posters from the site and they buried her. I've asked the guy who supposedly did this but he never responded and still posts on Covers.

RE: Sarah Phillips of ESPN
yea, the idea that someone would create:
a fake hot chick
or
a fake tout who allegedly wins all the time

neither of those concepts are new or rare. but combining them, to maximize pageviews or twitter followers or who knows what, is certainly a great idea.... BUT to what end, and also as Mr. Tanktop said, how does she work for ESPN or have that affiliation/platform?

it's one thing to be a random troll or anonymous internet phenomenon, but why/how the ESPN connection?

RE: Sarah Phillips of ESPN
I want to make a few things clear: I don't really care who or what Sarah J. Phillips is. What she does has no bearing on my life and quite honestly I don't read anything that she writes. Most people are jealous that a female writer, or a presumed female writer, has landed a gig at ESPN. Well, too damn bad.

We all get opportunities to do various things in this world, and some of us pay our dues and some of us don't. Petty jealousy, rather than genuine curiosity, is why most people are so desperate to "out" her.

I don't have any intention of outing Sarah J. Phillips. I really don't. I know more than I'm letting on because I've done a little independent digging myself, and I am quite certain that her story doesn't "add up" in a number of different spots.

For instance, I don't believe that she attended the University of Oregon. (And yes, I'll be the first to absorb flying eggs to the face if/when she proves that she did.)

Nonetheless, I am a former journalist and in some regard still consider myself to be one. IF ESPN is allowing someone to operate under a pen name and a false identity — an identity that appears to be inconsistent based on some of the things outlined in this post, and other stuff I won't get into — then I question their ethics.

RE: Sarah Phillips of ESPN
BTB... In college, I was an investigative journalist as well, so this story intrigues me from that perspective. As a whole, the gambling industry is filled with people in the shadows and less than honest characters. There are many people just starting out and/or don't have the knowledge to know who is being honest. That is something I take to heart.

I'm afraid I wasn't an investigative journalist. I was a sports writer, which is one step ahead (or even a notch below) the cartoonist.
