RE: Sarah Phillips of ESPN
So I got really into sports betting and handicapping about a year ago now, and I was following most of these fools, and come spring time, when John Harrison "killed himself" his site said they were looking to hire a new capper, so I believed this and went out and created a blog, created myself a Twitter account, and emailed The Vegas Killers hoping to catch their eye w/ my picks (which were awful during that timespan, mind you). Once Harrison came back to life, I was so perplexed I tweeted out to a couple of friends who I saw were following him and told them to stop because he was obviously a fraud (and his picks suck)
The next day I was at work and I got a phone call from a blocked number. It was John Harrison calling me and actually telling me that he will "come after me" if I continue talking trash about him and we had some choice words before I just said "Listen buddy, sorry if I am trying to expose but don't ever call me again" and hung up (I may have omitted some foul language here). Anyway I was kind of worried, wondering how he got my number before I realized that I must have included it in the email I wrote to Vegas Killers. The guy is definitely not right in the head (I mean who fakes a suicide) and I would avoid him and his site at all costs!! |

RE: Sarah Phillips of ESPN
Does anyone have any thoughts on SweetJones55? He was quite the superstar on the SBRforum and then started his own site. He offered his entire WNBA season for $30. I jumped on more out of curiosity than anything else. I didn't even follow all of his picks as much as I read his write ups (he emailed one out for every play) and tried to learn something. He was indeed a winner and as far as I can tell (I have not bought anymore packages, neither have I bought any from anyone else) he is still doing quite well. I would be curious to know whether or not anyone has any "scam" stories on him.

Back to Phillips for a second . . .
Is she really that "well known" to most ESPN viewers and readers? Or do most bettors just know of "her" because of the hobbies we have? |

She isn't really a "known" commodity, but her weekly Covers column is/was the most widely read article on the site each week. I mean, it's a girl talking about sports betting. Of course it will get read.

Could you go into the Randizzle story a little? A little over a year ago, when I first got into sports betting and thought I could make shit loads of money in a short period time, I purchased his picks and got raped for over a month. Realized it was a sham a few weeks in as he continued to lose and then make his next pick his GAME OF THE MONTH/YEAR/LIFETIME blah blah blah. I was a sucker and naive at first, but I think I've learned my lesson.

RE: Sarah Phillips of ESPN
Long story short, Randizzle14 was a poster on The Rx forum years ago and put together an incredible run. From what I remember, he was a college kid at the University of Texas (or Oklahoma, one of the two) and he was on an absolute tear.
As usual, the forum posters ate him up and were appreciative of his winning picks. The guy hit at a rate of about 78 to 81 percent over I'd say 75 to 100 plays — again, I'd have to go back and double check. In any case, Randizzle14 began to tell people that he was low on time; that he needed a new laptop; and so on. And people on the forum — total strangers — would offer to buy him a laptop. One poster, if I remember correctly, did, in fact, purchase Randizzle14 a laptop. And so then, the picks continued. From there, I forgot all that happened. Maybe Randizzle14 got his own forum. Maybe he didn't. What did happen, though, is that an Internet fraud (@Randizzle14) stole his name and created a website. He told people he was the Randizzle14 from The Rx forum (even though he wasn't), but most people couldn't tell a difference and were so desperate for winners they didn't care to find answers anyway. With the help of Incarcerated Bob (who I still can't figure out), Randizzle14 has built himself a fairly substantial following at The Gambler's Final Word. You might also notice a guy that goes by the name of JLB. He, too, is Randizzle14 (the fake one). They have similar site designs (a blog spot page) and have released the opposite sides of games. I have a few stories on that front, too, but they were told to me OTR. On Twitter: @beyondthebets |

I have to say that this is probably my favorite thread so far. BTB, you should write an article with names/monikers redacted unveiling some of the info you have collected.
Also, has anyone noticed that @incarceratedbob spends a lot of time propping up Randizzle? I wonder what the tie is there. @ITGlife on twitter |

RE: Sarah Phillips of ESPN
Any word on @PayneInsider? I started following him after I saw a back and forth between him and Todd Fuhrman. Seems kind of like a hack. I could see a lot of people getting burned by paying for his picks since he pulls the usual tricks like only announcing his winners and getting a good looking girl to announce a few free picks on youtube.

I actually think @payneinsider is legit.. if he isn't he's done a great job of fooling me.
I've always wondered bout Tod Wilkerson of PSIC (Platinum Sports Investment something..). Seems pretty legit, but I don't know how good he is. He supposedly created the Labourchere money management system, which I've always found to be complete nonsense and a horrible tool. On Twitter: @kreatture

To start with, he has a proper website setup. That may not seem like much, but every fraud I've ever seen only has a suped-up blog site with lots of flashy colors and piss-poor navigation. Most frauds won't show photos of themselves and post photos of themselves on the net, like he has done. Of course, it could be a random fake person much like the SJP case, but it doesn't seem like it. Again, he's done a great job of marketing himself if not the case. He has a niche. He's a Florida guy and plays a lot of games involving those teams. He isn't always fluffing other teams and claiming to know great amounts of info with them. It's like what you've done here with the Team Experts theme. He would definitely be the Florida Expert for all the Miami based teams. He's a good speaker. He could just be well educated and a great con-man, but again, I would have to say pretty much evey fraud on Twitter is very poor at speaking/writing. I haven't found any errors in his reporting of winners/losers. There's always major flaws in the way a fraud keeps track of his records. On Twitter: @kreatture

RE: Sarah Phillips of ESPN
Have you ever seen @PayneInsider release a game prior to tip off on Twitter? I haven't. Have you ever seen him say, "Man, terrible day. Couldn't hit a thing?" If he has, it's few and far between.
His website claims he's hitting 64 percent in NFL, 55 percent in MLB, 62 percent in NBA and 60 percent in college basketball. Forgive me for being just a bit skeptical. Anybody who has even a shred of credibility and can actually hit those percentages would have a ridiculously huge following. Payne Insider clearly doesn't have that following. Again, he looks the part. I've had e-mail exchanges with him, and he seems like a decent enough guy. Like you said, he's well spoken, seems honest, etc. But Adam Meyer "looks the part," too, and we all know he's a fraud. On Twitter: @beyondthebets |

RE: Sarah Phillips of ESPN
Payne - I have seen him post a comment once in awhile after a bad day. Yes, it is few and far between, but we're not supposed to dwell on losses, right? Move on to the next day. A true Professional is able to do that. On the flip side, does he often gloat after a good day? I don't think so?
Those %'s listed aren't really out-of-this-world numbers if the majority of his games are based around Florida teams, is it? Your best "Team Experts" here are hitting above those numbers on their chosen team of choice, I don't think it would be insane to think he could hit those numbers playing on/against teams you know very well? As far as releasing plays prior to tip, well he's a subscription based service. He does give out a freebie here and there (his recent couple of tweets this morning suggested a few plays) and I find he gives pretty solid advice from time to time. His packages are ridiculously priced, and I don't know anyone who subscribes to him, but I haven't really checked him out in-depth. I don't visit any other forums anymore, so don't know what info is out there on him. I'm completely skeptical, too, but I think he clearly has less "red flags" than most. On Twitter: @kreatture

RE: Sarah Phillips of ESPN
I agree that @PayneInsider is a decent writer and has a properly set up website, but all that means is he is educated. Plenty of frauds have advanced degrees. He may be an above average capper in his own right, but I find it hard to believe the percentages he claims based on a few weeks of following him. The only games I have seen he has lost is when he comments in-game about a play that ends up being a loser. Otherwise, he "always wins." I wouldn't pay for picks and would never recommend anyone to, but if you were desperate this doesn't seem like the guy to buy from.
