Quick question about bodog
Hey guys I'm new to the forum but have been following BTB for awhile now and a couple other guys on here but about 2 or 3 months ago I seen some type of article about bodog shutting down. I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about this because I have a decent amount of money on my bodog account and I don't want to lose it. I've been using bodog for a good 4 years now and have gotten multiple payouts and I've been pleased with it. If someone knows anything I'd really appreciate it if you let me know. Thanks

RE: Quick question about bodog
Bodog will be leaving the U.S. market effective Dec. 31, 2011. Your funds will be safe and you'll be transferred to a different brand.

Can you explain what transferred to a different brand is? In other words, will you have to extract all your money once 2012 hits?

RE: Quick question about bodog
They are leaving the US market, but are starting a new brand which will allow US customers.

They are going to automatically move all your money to their new brand. It should be seamless, though I could see a few issues resulting from this just because there will be a lot going on. They've been planning this for awhile though, so it should go pretty well, but if their are any problems I could see them dealing with them quickly.

RE: Quick question about bodog
I wonder how they plan on funding payments for their US clients. It seems like payouts would be less of an issue than payments, but if I was the US government, and I saw a big shop like Bodog opening up a US market, I'd start sniffing immediately.

Because they've been so open about the entire process, I don't think you have to worry about it too much. I also don't know if they'd be doing something like this unless it meant opening up a safer way of doing business in the US...

I have a friend who works there, I could try to see if I can get any info from him on this whole thing if you guys would like, though I'm not sure how much he actually knows.

That would be really helpful if you could actually contact your friend just so I could actually not stress about it as much as I am right now. And I feel like you are right about them being open about it which meaning its doubtful anything will happen to my money but just want to be safe. Thanks again.

RE: Quick question about bodog
If you're really that stressed about it maybe withdraw a majority of your money and then re-deposit once Bodog has been re branded?

Nothing to worry about, basically it will BoDog using another name and website, but as far as your account, it will be buisness as usual just under a different name. Your funds are safe.

RE: Quick question about bodog
Hi All - Bovada Customer Service here!

To start, we just wanted to reassure you that if you have any account specific questions or concerns, the Bovada.LV Customer Service team is available to help you out at 1-888-263-0000 or service@bovada.lv.

To clarify what has happened a bit: the big change is really just the brand name. Previously Morris Mohawk Gaming Group licensed the use of the Bodog Brand to operate, but we will now operate under the Bovada Brand name. We are offering the same service, products and overall gaming experience that were previously offered by Bodog.eu. All US players who were previously registered with Bodog.eu now have accounts with Bovada.LV.

I'm not a member with Bovada, but I actually enjoy that they are taking strides to interact with posts like these. I feel like I've never really seen it before. Dunno

Welcome to the forum, Bovada.

A few things: I have been thinking about promoting your brand on this site, as I've always trusted Bodog. If I were to do so, would you make yourself available to handle any disputes that customers might have?

Also: 49ers or Steelers? LOL

Any reason why you don't offer accounts to players in Australia?

I would anticipate there will be some customer service issues during the changeover, but nothing major.

RE: Quick question about bodog
Partnering with a site that customizes lines based on player betting history, why?

RE: Quick question about bodog
It's a legitimate book, a safe book, they pay on time, a customer service rep has made himself available to help with concerns/complaints here at the forum, it's rated A+ by SBR, so on and so on.

There are very, very few books that I trust. Bodog (now Bovada) has given me no reason to think that player funds will be at risk. The lines, as you said, are a pain in the ass. They juice the crap out of certain sides. And no, I don't recommend that people use them exclusively.

But if you belong to two, three, four or even five books, why not make it one of your "outs"?
