Potential Easy Prop Bet on BOL?
Was just looking at some lines on BOL tonight and noticed they have a prop under the Entertainment section about whether "Dark Knight Rises" will break the 204 million opening box office record of "The Avengers" or not.

Yes +185
No -225

After doing a bit of research, it seems that a lot of people think it's going to come up rather short. Avengers had 3D and 3D-IMAX which are more expensive tickets than the 2D Dark Knight Rises. Plus, Avengers drew more of a kid-family audience than Dark Knight Rises is expected to get. Lastly, Dark Knight Rises is 20 minutes longer than The Avengers. Not sure if that is a huge deal, but could mean less showtimes across the country that opening weekend than Avengers was able to have.

Just my two cents on this interesting prop, all comments welcome.

Might not even come close, but I still wouldn't lay -225 on it.

Agree with louiemdj. Also, I'm not sure I would ever bet on something like that and not feel like a complete degenerate.

Interesting. So if you bet "No," you can't go see it on opening weekend, right? And if you bet "Yes" you have to watch it three times. LOL
