I'm with louie, I don't think you can possibly win long term at online BJ. The only way to get profitable odds long term in real life is to get ahead by counting cards. The odds are just so stacked against you on almost every play I don't see how you could beat the software without pure luck. And everyone knows pure luck doesn't last.

No, I don't think winning long term is very likely. I compare playing online blackjack to playing at a live table with a CSM. If I had to choose between playing on Bodog or at a live table with a CSM, I'd choose Bodog almost every time since they have better house rules than most casinos. If I had to choose between playing Bodog or at a live table without a CSM, I'd choose a live table every time so I can count and swing the edge my way.

I live a little over 2 hours away from a good casino for blackjack (WV is closer but awful house rules/stakes/player treatment). So if I want to do some educated gambling once in awhile, I'm ok with playing blackjack on Bodog if I'm in the mood and have the free time to do so.

That makes a lot more sense and sounds somewhat reasonable.

The problem with playing BJ online, is that you're speeding up a process, where the house already has a decided edge. The casino is at least limited to how fast the dealer can deal, and how slowly dumb people make easy decisions. Online, it goes as fast as you can click the buttons, so you're just piling up hands even faster against the house advantage.

Yeah... I find its much easier to win online nowadays though with so much knowledge at our hands. http://www.pokerstrategy.com has really helped me and I even know people who are going all out and buying programs that seem to "help". I was curious about this stuff.. my friend was recommending www.makesense-reviews.blogspot.com/ but that stuff always looks too promoted. Its just hard to tell when your playing against robots these days

There is some really good software out there. If you play a lot of cash games online with the same people and can get enough data.

Personally, the only software I really use is TableNinja. It just allows you to play 16-20 tables a lot easier. You can program hot keys so you never have to use your mouse. It's pretty sweet. It's basically essential is you ever want to be good at mass multitabling.

I wish I was that good. My online handle is the same as you see here. Just a small time grinder who has had a few good runs. I would like to think I know what I am doing though.

nl200.

j/k I dont have a HUD I have a few friends who are pretty good and I wanted to make an educated joke. My home game that started 10 years ago got really good so we don't really play much anymore. It's kind of sad because they started grinding online and lost sight of the "drinking beer, shooting-the-shit, ballbusting" aspect of the game, which is where I shined. :D

I have never played up in Tulsa but, as a Texan, I have been to the casinos just across the border in Oklahoma.

If online poker ever gets legal again we should all definitely try to play a "homegame" online on PS or something!

No 5dimes account. Cry and Run

I'm debating trying to qualify for the Bovada Black Diamond deal. I have a free 10+1 satellite entry. Might have to go after it.
