Nice to see the NHL embracing their "fat kid picked last" role in this whole thing.

Have to be honest, and my opinion may be bias, but I was hoping I'd see people passing around the BTB article instead of the one from TheBigLead. Seems to be more informative

He knew this would be coming so I hope that NJ was prepared and we can move in. Seeing wagers placed in Atlantic City would be great for people on the east coast.

If a league didn't sue then would New Jersey be able to legally take bets on that league with little opposition? That would be great move by the NHL to generate more interest and higher TV ratings but of course they are not smart enough to see that.

Yeah, the NHL probably got dragged into this mess. I do love Lesniak's quote, though, and it's a great point and will make for excellent column fodder for those who want to wag a finger at the NFL and its hypocritical stance:
RT @DavidPurdum N.J. Sen. Lesniak: "If NFL was so worried about integrity of game, they wouldn't play games in England, where gambling is legal." On Twitter: @beyondthebets |

RE: NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NCAA suing New Jersey for sports betting bill
The leagues obviously don't have faith in their teams and players, to think that allowing gambling would ruin the integrity of the game. This might sound a little ridiculous, but I really don't see much of a difference between fantasy sports and betting on lines.
You can wager on individual performance, because it takes skill. But betting against a point spread or total doesn't take skill? I'd argue that winning in sports betting is much more difficult than winning in fantasy sports.
