Jeffrey had a huge 2010 season, but then had a pretty rough 2011 season by his standards. The quarterback play from South Carolina was awful, but that's not what killed his stock. During the 2011 season he played at a heavier weight, and didn't get the separation from college corners. Big red flag there. He ran a good 40 at his pro day (4.5) but teams are still concerned he won't be able to keep the weight off. Every player comparison I've seen has been Mike Williams, totally agree with that. Jeffrey should be a good red zone target, but due to his weight concerns I could even see him slipping to the 3rd round.

Yeah i'm sure there is a correlation there, maybe even a causal effect. The biggest thing in a competitive salary cap league is VALUE, similar to what we do. It's not a matter of good running backs don't help teams, as a Raider fan I know McFadden carried that team. It's the problem of putting too money at the running back position, allotting less money for more important positions that effect the game more.

Same goes for the NFL draft, if a team takes a running back or any player in the first round, that running back will give contributions. However with a position like a running back, a 4th round prospect could give similar contributions to the 1st. A team could take a different player in round 1, blue chip left tackle for example, and get both the contributions of a running back and Blue chip player.
