NCAAB Friday 1-27
Didn't see a thread up on a light-action night. Two games stuck out though....
Fairfield +2. This hasn't been the same Iona team of late and its their defense that had really suffered. Also, if any team has the experienced guards to battles Iona's threesome its Fairfield with Needham and Rakim Sanders. Glover could be a problem for fair but I'm not as worried. Fairfield hasn't played in 9 days and Iona off a bad road loss to Siena. I love home dogs and if it drops to 1.5 small ml lean for me here. Yale +6. Pretty easy, Harvard plays d. That's it. They don't score well and have no one to take over a contested road affair. Greg Mangano is the best player in IVY, Yale shoots it well from 3 at home, and doesn't turn it over, all ways to beat good defensive teams at home. Also Im pretty sure home teams play better on Fridays in the Ivy and road teams better on Saturdays. Someone tell me if I'm wrong, I might have switched it... Good luck guys, and go Pacers in the association! |

RE: NCAAB Friday 1-27
I'm going to disagree with you on the Iona@Fairfield game. Iona is off a bad road loss as you mentioned, but so far this season they've always responded well after a loss:
19 point road loss to Marshall followed by a 9 point win @Richmond. 8 point loss @ Hofstra followed up by a 36 point win against Sienna. 3 point Home loss to Michigan followed up by a 9 point win against Loyola MD Granted Iona hasn't been playing great recently, but they're still a better team than Fairfield. I don't think it'll be a huge blowout, but I see Iona winning on the road quite comfortably. |

RE: NCAAB Friday 1-27
I've been looking at the Yale +6 as well. I'm definitely no Ivy League expert (or any kind of expert for that matter) but it seems like a lot of points to give. This is a rival and while 99% of the country doesn't care about the game, the players and students/fans do. The fact that Harvard is ranked in the Top 25 will have the Yale crowd fired up as well.
Last year's games: @Harvard -- 78-75 HARVARD @Yale -- 70-69 YALE Mangano at 6'10 should give Harvard's bigs (6'7" & 6'8") a lot of trouble. Dude averages 19pts 10rebs and isn't afraid to step out and pop the 3 ball. He shoots over 30% from beyond the arc. On paper Yale should be about +10 in the rebound margin. More rebounds means more shots. More shots means more points. Line seems to be a bit inflated because of the #23 next to the Harvard name. That's just like, your opinion, man. ![]() Twitter: @TheBetLebowski |

RE: NCAAB Friday 1-27
I like Yale as well. Dont really play IVY League games at all. The reasons that are already posted are why. no need to repeat.
