MNF - San Diego @ Kansas City
I'm having a hard time with this game.. I have San Diego penciled in right now and even thought at one point this week they would win this game by 14. Sharps have hit the Chiefs, and I just listened to a hot capper explain to me they like KC to cover.
Please give me your #1 reason why Kansas City either covers this spread or wins the game outright? Please include a Final Score.

I'll give 1 Rep Point to the #1 reason I like best, and a 2nd Rep Point if I actually change my mind and pick Kansas City.

I'll reply to this later. In the meantime, please look up the series history between Kansas City and San Diego and let me know if you spot any patterns.

I didn't even see the poll. Doubt others will either. Seems like a funny place to put a poll. I'll have my high-tech IT team fix that.

Mr. Lucky,

Pay careful attention to the total points scored, home and away, for these two teams over the last five years or so. Report back your findings.

I was hoping for better responses.. I'm likely to deduct a point for insisting I do extra work.. I can't remember the scores from when I checked earlier, but I seem to remember them being high scoring.. Are u suggesting the Over? I hope not.. cuz that has absolutely nothing to do with what I asked.

I also don't remember that many games being decided by 3 points or less.. so that is the only reason checking the scores would benefit me.. I'll check again.

Sorry, Mr. Lucky, I just wanted to send you on a scavenger hunt to waste time from your day LOL

You can deduct a rep point from me.

By the way, has your check arrived?

RE: MNF - San Diego @ Kansas City
KC has won 3 straight games, scoring at least 22 in all 3.
They had the same bye week - SD is on its 3rd straight road game, 6th time zone
If they're looking ahead - KC has Miami, SD has Green Bay
I picked SD in a weekly office pool
KC is still able to rush the ball (7th/129 ypg) - SD doesn't stop it too well (21st/121 ypg)

It wasn't much of a scavenger hunt.. I do my homework on games. Horror and Surprise I'm tremendously disappointed by response of rest of forum tho.. It IS college Gameday tho.. will wait til kickoff tomorrow for hopefully some light on the subject.

No.. it hasn't arrived yet. I haven't put too much stock into the fact, since it was coming from the US to Canada.. Canada Post sucks up here once it arrives in Canada.

I still can't believe you sent a cheque through the mail.. I dunno bout down there, but that's a no-no here.. has it been cleared as cashed yet?

Based on time you said you sent it, I honestly was not expecting it until mid-late next week.

Wow. I had no idea that checks (not cheques) took that long to arrive. No, it hasn't been cashed, so it shouldn't have ended up in enemy hands.

Yet.

Scared

If for some reason it doesn't arrive, let me know and we'll figure something.

Why did a goddamn Canadian win my contest. Evil Shake

RE: MNF - San Diego @ Kansas City
First, has anyone ever heard of that thing called PayPal? Hello?

Second, call be a pessimist but I like the Chargers in this one. Yes, KC kept it to 3 when they last met, but that was a classic case of a team overlooking an opponent that had been blown out the previous two games. Now, with first place on the line, the better, more talented team should come out on top with all the eyes of the league watching on MNF.

In my opinion, the chances of SD "looking past" KC are slim considering that A) it's on national TV and B) first place in the division is on the line.

Also, I love the Chiefs, but seriously ... who have we beaten? Awful Minnesota, worse Indianapolis, and terrible Oakland. That's Donovan McNabb, Curtis Painter, and the Kyle Boller/Carson Palmer combo.

Philip Rivers is struggling, but that's still a big step up in class. I think SD covers, but I have yet to bet it. Just my two cents there.

I appreciate all insight, thank you.

I mentioned Paypal, but it wasn't an option, I forget why.

I'm not looking forward to many NFL games tomorrow.. the primetime ones should be the best.

But also you need to consider who the chargers have beaten vikings, dolphins, broncos aren't exactly the cream of the crop either. Rivers is throwing picks this year like a maniac and now hes gotta face a chiefs team coming out of a early slump and a fired up defense that grabbed 6 out of the air last week.

Those are solid points. Too lazy to research this, but isn't Rivers a notorious slow starter? I mean, I know it's not normally this bad with the interceptions, but doesn't he usually pick it up as the season progresses?

I've said this before and I'll say it again: I think Rivers is injured. Yes, he and Norv are denying it, but it seems pretty apparent that he isn't playing NEAR the level that he has in previous seasons.

This isn't a personnel issue, either. We've seen Rivers succeed when throwing to nothing more than trash cans and shopping carts.

For KC's sake, I hope you're right.

There really isn't much doubt that the Chargers should be the better team, but they constantly under achieve. They find a way to make games close that shouldn't be. KC has all the confidence in the world right now. And if BTB's is right about Rivers potentially being injured, how can you not be on the Chiefs? I will be all over it if I can get 3.5 or maybe even 4.

I hate to say it, but I can't make a play on this game. I can usually separate my Chiefs knowledge from my fandom, but goodness, I want this win really, really bad. I can't objectively pick this one.
