MLB Handicapping Tournament, round 1
Took papers out of a hat, this is what we ended up with.
Winner goes through, looser goes home:

South region:
STS vs Captain Cold
SkyBlues42 vs Wvutime5

West Region:
JSpauny vs illadelphia
ckiernan vs mattrud

East Region:
clopton175 vs iKnowNothing
DOP vs Arzoman

Midwest Region:
TheHandicaper vs BetThemDogs
The Monarch vs Chicago Cover

South vs West; East vs Midwest

Last day to make plays for this round is April 19

Reamember the rules:

1. Matches will be 2 weeks long. You are picking 20 bets.
However, your picks must include at least:
  • 1 run line favorite
  • 1 run line underdog
To clarify, this means one -1.5 and one +1.5 play. Not one +odds run line and one -odds run line
  • 2 game unders
  • 2 game overs
  • 2 underdogs
  • 2 Prop bets
Prop bets can be of any kind, resolved in the 2 weeks the matchup is on, with odds over -300 (-250, +120, etc). It's your oponents' job to verify the odds on the play. It's your responsibility to save a print screen image of the odds if your oponent wants to verify them. If your oponent asks to see the image, and you don't have it, the play will be voided.
Other 8 picks can be of any kind posted above.

2. You will be head to head against another forum member. Whoever has the highest unit total at the end of two weeks, wins that matchup.
Edit 3. During the last three days of a matchup you can't directly match or fade your opponents picks in any way. Not even Run line against ML, etc.
4. Plays will be graded based on the closing line at scoresandodds.com & have to be submitted before listed start time on the site.
5. All bets are risking one unit.
6. Plays can be posted anytime after the end of every game in the prior day's schedule.
Added 7. A push on any bet counts. Only bets that get canceled can be replaced.

RE: MLB Handicapping Tournament, round 1
I guess posting the actual odds are worthless since we are using closing lines so I'll leave that out.

4/4/12
-Stl ML (satisfies 1 underdog play)
-Stl/Mia Over (satisfies 1 over play)

I still like the 98.5 number. Perennially hurt pitcher coming off shoulder surgery. First start so arm strength is not all there. Only way Ozzie leaves him in is if he's throwing a gem (4 hits or less with no runs). I don't see that so I'd take that number. If you could get it at + odds, I'd jump on it

Lance Berkman gets a hit YES (-240 at scoresandodds.com)

On prop bets, yes, only if it gets cancelled.
On any other plays, say a push on a total, the play counts.
