MLB Friday - Whoa! Am I Missing Something Here>
Why are the Texas Rangers only -128 at 5dimes to beat the Giants???

What am I missing. Harrison is a decent pitcher that has pitched well and they are going against Zito, I know Zito has pitched well, but doesnt Texas destroy left handed pitchers????

I only have one pick today:

Astros +133- These guys always fail for me, but I'm giving them another shot. Wandy is phenomenal on the road and Gavin struggles a bit at home. Worth a shot at +133.

Rangers have been struggling of late, but yes you're correct about Texas vs. LHPs. They have the 4th best wOBA vs. LHPs in MLB this year, while the Giants rank 24th.

Harrison has been the better pitcher so far with an xFIP of 4.00 and a SIERA of 4.07. Zito's is an xFIP of 5.01 and a SIERA of 4.92.

It appears via scoresandodds that Rangers have jumped up to -142. If it's still available at -128 that could provide value.

Good luck!

RE: MLB Friday - Whoa! Am I Missing Something Here>
Here's 4 on my card today:

Yankees TT Over 4.5 (-115) - I think Santana struggles after pitching the no-no last time out. I know he got extended rest but I'm not so sure that's a good thing, could throw off his rhythm a little bit. Hoping that Santana wears down a little early and the Yanks get a good shot at the Mets bad bullpen.

Astros/White Sox Over 8 (-115) - Both starting pitchers are struggling. Houston's bullpen isn't anything special and is taxed right now having pitched a lot of innings in recent games. Houston has had a respectable offense this season though despite not having a lot of big name bats. White Sox have scored at least 4 runs in 7 straight.

Nationals Under 8 (+100) - Strasburg has been nasty and like him again here tonight. Also like Dubront to match him and pitch well at home against a Nats team that doesn't hit lefties all that well.

Dodgers ML (+112) - Like the Dodgers as short dogs. Millwood struggled with his control last game, which lead him to get roughed up a little. I think those struggles spills over into tonights game against a Dodgers team that is hot coming off a sweep at Philly.

DHayes: You're right, I like CLE too. Tomlin is decent on the road and Westbrook's been fading along with his team.

I think Santana's biggest test will be keeping the ball in the strike zone. He walked five batters in his no hitter, now he's facing a team that's full of patient hitters, as well as a lineup that can extend AB's with foul balls etc. His pitch count should rise quickly.

Raul Ibanez is 16-for-46 (.348) with two home runs in his career against Johan Santana. Jeter is 19-for-43 (.442) lifetime against Santana.
