Because Covers, apparently, was blown away by them. ![]()

RE: Jack Zito / Covers thread
So, if we can agree that marketing is critical to a pick-seller's success (if it wasn't, then I highly doubt Covers/Zito would lie about his participation in the Hilton Supercontest), then why not look into Zito's Twitter and Facebook accounts to see if he is proficient with social media?
After all, these are technological skills that Zito himself said he possesses. You know, on his RESUME! ![]() ![]() Thing is, a basic query would have generated zero results. There is no Jack Zito, professional gambler, on Twitter or Facebook. And if that's the case ...

RE: Jack Zito / Covers thread
Oh, gosh. It gets WORSE!?
![]() ![]() So, let's take a look at these references. We have a Tony and we have a Dave. Tony, it appears, has a very uncommon last name. But, gee, would you look at that: His last name is eerily similar to Dave's ... save for the letter 'z.' Is is possible that Jack had a typo on his resume? Of course. But is it more likely that Tony and Dave are friends of Jack's? Why, yes. I think it is. Now, even if they aren't friends, is it possible that they are brothers or cousins!? Yes, I think it is. And if that's the case, then why would they BOTH purchase plays from Zito? Did Covers miss yet ANOTHER red flag?

I hope for Cover's sake they completely redo how they go about hiring people, and I hope for Zito's sake that by the time he graduates, he learns how to properly write a resume.

Spauny, you're obviously not getting a job because you weren't a "team member" on your varsity basketball team. Just list that and then you're gold.

RE: Jack Zito / Covers thread
If you think this whole Covers, Jack Zito story is pathetic then go the Steve Budin websites like Sportsadvisors.com and BrandonLang.com and you'll see something even worse. Budin has over 25 websites that have over 85% made up handicappers. Other sites like VegasExperts.com and Pregame.com do the same thing. They photo shop a picture and make up a story of a made up gambler who takes the world by storm and then start selling picks for years with this scam and the public buys these picks and gets destroyed financially.

RE: Jack Zito / Covers thread
Budin and Lang are pathetic. But they've been pathetic for 20 years. We expect that.
We expect Covers to have higher standards. By the way, which Pregame cappers are "fake?"

RE: Jack Zito / Covers thread
OK so here's the thing with Pregame.com. They put themselves out as pros that make money doing this professionally and most of their handicappers claim to bet the games they give out and are winners. Well that's about as far from the truth as there is. The last time about a month ago someone from another website tracked every pick from every handicapper on their site and only 10 of the 31 handicappers were winning money. No one I know in Vegas or offshore even has heard about or seen the owner RJ Bell as even betting games himself. As for the made up names do you think that any of these names used are real?
1. Vegas Runner 2, Philly Godfather 3. Mike Hook 4. Gill Alexander 5. JR ODonnell 6. Johnny Detroit 7. Stan Sharp 8. Denver Money 9. Spartan 10. Godfella In my opinion Pregame is just as much of a scam as Covers and employees criminals who can't do anything else and are just as guilty as R. J Bell. |

RE: Jack Zito / Covers thread
Most of those names are actually popular within the industry, regardless of win-loss record. That's why nearly all of their REAL names are out in the open in some form.
I think having a name like Vegas Runner -- although he's had many -- wouldn't be a bad thing if his real name was published alongside it. It's a catchy name that's more marketable. Same with Philly Godfather.
