If you could be World Champ?
If you could pick 3 different sports to have titles in what would they be? I will use the word sport pretty loosely here because it can include things like poker or whatever else you can win a title doing.

My 3 in this order are:

WSOP Main Event Champion: To get through the minefield that is the ME would have to be one of the most difficult accomplishments I can think of. Not only do you have to play near perfect for 7 days, but you also have to avoid getting unlucky multiple times as well as suck out just as much. Fortunately I know how hard it is to get through some fields that have thousands of players, and it's a rush that is nearly impossible to beat.

PBA Champion: Not sure which tournament I would choose to win, maybe the US Open. I love to bowl and I would be curious to see how good I could possibly get if I bowled every single day and constantly worked on my game instead of just bowling a couple times a week and getting hammered while I do it.

PGA Champion: It's a toss up between wanting to win the Masters or the US Open. Maybe lean Masters on this one just because of the history at Augusta. I love to play golf. Similar to bowling, I would like to see how good I could possibly get if I just played every single day with top notch instruction. I was on a golf team for a DIII school for a year before I transferred to Missouri State, but I didn't really take advantage of the opportunity. I had other priorities like most college kids.

I chose all individual sports because I would rather be the one to blame or vice versa.

I feel like I can play poker with the best on certain days, but of course I would have to actually play in the ME in order to ever make this happen. It seems like the most realistic.

I would like to think I might actually have a chance to make a PBA event with the proper guidance and preparation, but it would obviously be a huge stretch be win against the best.

As far as golf, I would never really even expect to be able to step on the same course with real professionals, let alone come close to winning something. I would be lucky to come within about 20 strokes of making a cut in one the shitty events and that's with me having the best day of my life probably.

Feel free to share your pipe dreams.

My 3:

-Absolutely agree with the WSOP Main Event Champ. That's stuff that lives on forever. Moneymaker made his career by coming out of nowhere to win his. You're a legend when you win this. And every knows legends never die.
-Superbowl. I'm a football fanatic so I have to throw this one in there. Winning the Superbowl is the apex of my favorite sport so naturally this has to be on the list.
-The Masters. That course is unreal and that jacket is perfect. Another event where the winners become legends.

2.) Anything PGA Tour related/FedEx Cup
3.) Boxing. (I'm sorry, making that much money for two fights a year? Sign me up).

1. Stanley Cup - hardest trophy to win (biased) and your name is on it forever

2. Curling Gold Medalist - come on, how awesome would that be? To be a professional curler.

3. World Series champion - favorite sport

I love curling. One of my college roommates, who lives in Columbus, OH now was just telling me he had curling lessons last weekend and I was so jealous. Never done it, but I would like to try. HE did say it wasn't nearly as easy as they make it look though.

1) UFC - I think you pretty much get the crown as baddest s.o.b. on Earth.

2) NASCAR - I hate NASCAR, but millions of dollars to drive a car? Yep.

3) Darts - It has to pay decent, and you pretty much just get to hang out in bars.

Good one, I considered it. Any sport that you can drink and play is always at the top of my list.

Also, if I remember right, Jim Rome did a segment on how much the #1 darts player in the world made a year and I think it was just over 1 million.

Also, I picked the sports I would want to championships in based on what I enjoy the most. If it was only for money, I would probably change my picks.

Went curling 3-4 times last year. I had a tendency to stop on it when I would be channel surfing, and it looked fun. It's really fun, and more work than you'd think... and really challenging. Those guys on TV have some crazy skills.

That said, I'd go for these three:

1) FIS WorldCup overall champion. I grew up on skis, raced for 8 years and then coached for the local racing team for 8 years. I love skiing.

2) Stanley Cup. Skiing took most of my free time as a youth, so I never played, but growing up in Montreal I managed to watch a lot of hockey.

3) Superbowl. My favourite sport to watch, and it just seems like an experience like no other.

WSOP and PGA wins would be pretty great as well, so they'll get honorable mentions :).

Just seems like a good fit. Pull in $20k winning a darts tournament, and what do you know, you're in a bar! Let's celebrate!

Not only "drink and play," but become better at as you drink more (with a certain threshold that only each individual knows). My best darts and bowling games have come at that perfect level of drunkenness that is so hard to find.

Here's my top 3:

1) PGA Tour Champion -- I'd choose Masters, but winning the Open Championship would be pretty B.A. as well. PGA is the best sport to go pro in, if you ask me. You can play competitively till you're in your 40's, and then once your game starts to slide too much, guess what? They have an effing SENIOR TOUR for you!

2) PBA -- I've always made the claim that bowling, if you committed all your time to it, would be the easiest sport for a non-athlete to become good at and go pro in. It's one motion, a limited variety of shots you need to master, and again ... it's a sport that is helped by certain amounts of alcohol.

3) Darts -- Given how many darts bets I made in college, it's pretty obvious that I love this "sport."

RE: If you could be World Champ?
1) Masters - getting the jacket and becoming part of the legendary history has to be amazing.

2) NCAA Basketball Champion - cutting down the net is always something I have wanted to do; plus I have to imagine chicks would be (even) more willing to bang a national champ.

3) World's Strongest Man - my reason is simple and forward looking; if i have a daughter, i can scare off any deadbeat boyfriend she might have and if i have a son, how great would it be that he could say his dad is the world's strongest man.

WSOP Main Event...unless there's another championship that guarantees you at least $8M in prize money and a new career that will span throughout your lifetime.

RE: If you could be World Champ?
3 of them? Man......

1. World Series - Would have to be with the Braves or it just wouldnt work lol. My favorite sport and either starting or closing the clinching game would be just amazing.

2. Masters - The history at Augusta and being linked with all those all-timers, going back every year as a past champion. It would be hard to beat that. Also love golf, but like most, I am not as good as I'd like to be.

3. World Cup/Heavyweight Boxing - This one was tough. World Cup would be great because you're representing your country and you are honestly a WORLD champion. People know about you honestly AROUND the world. That would be cool. Boxing is really just because it's an old-school sport (like baseball, golf, etc lol) and you're a bad mf'er if you are heavyweight champion.
