From the Front Page
I'll make this my regular contribution here and whenever BTB gets around to writing interesting articles (LOL), hopefully we can get a discussion going about them. I believe today's article is very interesting...

‘Does Bill Snyder know the Vegas line?’

If you're setting a line, and you know the coach is going to be aware of it, you take that into consideration, correct?

Does the line get skewed because of it?

How hard is Snyder looking at the number?

RE: From the Front Page
I was mostly joking about Bill Snyder consciously being aware of the line, though historically, it sure has seemed like he has known. I mean, shit, he used to smash those non-con teams and didn't let up until ... until ... until ...

The Cats covered the spread.

A 31-game sample isn't that big, but given the size of the spreads, and the rate at which he hit, it's pretty crazy that he covered more than 80 PERCENT of the time.

But to your question: I think most coaches are aware of the point spread, or at least hear of what it is. I think they are curious to know the expectations, and many coaches, I'm sure, use the point spread as a motivational tool. "LOOK AT THIS!" a coach might say. "LAS VEGAS THINKS YOU'RE 28 POINTS WORSE THAN THIS SHIT-BAG OPPONENT OF OURS!"

More coaches are aware of the spread than those that aren't. They constantly have boosters in their ear. I'm sure boosters love to bet.

Let's start an underground list. [Image: f28250e45d59dd79d19b77832a3519e60aa9ac4.gif]
