Fading Losing Streaks -- Time to Fade the Royals?

RE: Fading Losing Streaks -- Time to Fade the Royals?
My brain is defective and have thought each day, "might be the day." Have had to fight strong impulses of playing them, it's as if I'm sub-consciously trying to lose. We're all self destructive to a degree. However I've been blind betting against them, juice and all.

One thing is certain. When they finally win...playing them the following game will be easy money.

From a Joe Posnanski blog...

There have been 20 losing streaks of 12 or more games since 1995, and five of them belong to the Royals. Like I said, we're familiar with this.

Twelve game losing streaks since 1995 (with final record):

2012: Kansas City
2011: Seattle (67-95)
2010: Pittsburgh (57-105)
2009: Baltimore (64-98)
2008: Seattle (61-101), Kansas City (75-87), Washington (59-102)
2007: None
2006: Kansas City (62-100), Pittsburgh (67-95)
2005: Kansas City (56-106)
2004: Milwaukee (67-94), Arizona (51-111), Baltimore (78-84), Tampa Bay (70-91)
2003: None
2002: Tampa Bay (55-106), New York Mets (75-86), Baltimore (67-95)
2001: None
2000: None
1999: None
1998: None
1997: Chicago Cubs (68-94), Kansas City (67-94)
1996: Detroit (53-109)
1995: None

So their win total is just about shot.. based on these records. That's pretty interesting. [Today is the day] Panic

Today might have to be the day. Nice weather. Sybil Jimenez on the mound. Tomlin tomorrow afternoon on getaway day, but rainy, blustery, shitty weather expected which should help the flyball guy.

That said, Indians are without Choo for the next few days with a hammy issue. Means Cunningham has to play everyday (gag). Jason Donald is now the 4th OF and that's a complete work in progress so no defensive replacement for Duncan in the late innings like Acta's done all year.

Choo hasn't hit worth shit, but he does work counts. Cunningham swung at the first pitch in all 4 of his AB yesterday, even the two against Jonathan Sanchez who had the control of a premature ejaculator (no, I wouldn't know, that's an assumption).

No problem. I'm all about the winning series mentality. Take 2 of 3 and 3 of 4 more often than not and you put yourself in a good position come September.

Win tomorrow and I don't worry about tonight.

RE: Fading Losing Streaks -- Time to Fade the Royals?
I think the Royals are going to turn it around fast. I was down on them coming in, but I still think they are a 76 win team. I think at 4-14, which means they go .500 the rest of the way. I've been betting against them the last couple weeks, but I'd start riding some overs on them now and will bet them to win against average to below average pitchers. Their starting pitching is horrible and their bats are really solid. I'm on KC to win tomorrow and the over 8.5.

Good grief it looks ugly out there, Skating. Nothing like a Thursday day game where there's about 1,000 people in the stands. KC is familiar with those.

Yeah, I went downtown and got fed up with the parking situation. Couple lots I park in were for monthly passes only and I didn't feel like having my truck towed for parking somewhere I shouldn't.

Ah, so THAT explains the lack of attendance. Another 10,000 people probably had the same problem. LOL

Can't imagine a Royals ticket is a very hot item in Cleveland right now.

Has there been an announced attendance yet?

Not yet. I'll let you know when there is one.

I've seen Indians-Royals tickets on StubHub for games at Kauffman for like $3 right behind the dugout. You guys aren't ones to talk about attendance.

Edit: 9229 the announced attendance. The physical attendance is probably around 1500.

Wow. Yeah no way it's 9,229.

And agreed, the Royals have had more than their fair share of home games just like this one.
