OK, so many of you have sent private messages or emails in the past asking how on earth BTB remains free. Well, quite honestly, I have no idea.

But this I do know: On the rare occasion that we get a site sponsor - like, um, now - I'd really, really appreciate it if you could check them out and possibly support them. In doing so, you're ultimately supporting us.

So, all that out of the way, I'm happy to introduce DraftDay, a daily fantasy sports site offering cash prizes. They have a mammoth five-day contest coming up on May 21-25, which culminates with a $20,000 main event on the final day. All told, there is over $40,000 in guaranteed prizes.

In the meantime, there are tons of other daily contests - and you can even create your own. Or, more specifically, we can create our own. For instance, we could create a 10-team private contest.

I believe vegasobie posted about something along these lines in the OffTopic forum. I'm a newbie to these sorts of fantasy sports contests, but I think it'd be fun to do a BTB-related league or contest or whatever it's called.

Anyone else?

Went ahead and signed up. I love fantasy just never liked the idea of paying on a per game basis. I'm more of a "long haul" type of fantasy player. I'm pretty good at picking out seasonal value but not as good at daily value, but we'll see how this goes.

For tomorrow I went Weaver, Cargo, Bruce, Joey Bats, and Kinsler. Figured Weaver's got the best chance to throw a shutout since he's in Petco and then I went power and power-speed guys. Punted BA, but could easily win the other 4 cats.

I hate - I mean HATE - fantasy baseball. But dead serious, this setup is actually kind of fun. Easy to join a league, easy to set a lineup, chance to win a prize in six hours rather than six months.

Not bad. I'll start posting screen shots of my garbage teams.

Dude, fantasy baseball is the best fantasy sport, imo. I used to be a fantasy football nut, but I've shifted. Baseball is where fantasy achieves it's best balance of skill and entertainment. I love it.

Likewise. I guess you get a free $5 head-to-head matchup every day. Just did another one. How are you going to play out the winnings? A few $1 games, or go for a $5 with lots of entrants for a bigger payoff?
