It's almost becoming common knowledge that the pick selling industry has little to do with picks and everything to do with marketing.

It isn't common enough. There are still many "influential" people who seem willing to accept and even promote these types of business models or are simply unaware of their full context.

Also, there are a few exceptions in the industry, but it is definitely less than 1%.
