Odds to Win College World Series

Any thoughts on this?

Personally, I like Stony Brook at 15/2. This team isn't a big name but they can play and had 7 players drafted in the recent MLB draft.

Quotes from LSU Coach Paul Mainieri after their regional in Baton Rouge:

"It's hard for me to find a weakness in their team. One through nine, that was the toughest lineup we've faced all year."

"I would not be surprised if Stony Brook goes on to win the National Championship. I cannot imagine anyone in the Country being better than that team".

This coming from a coach in the SEC, who's team played the 3 SEC teams that will be in Omaha. I think it's worth a shot at 7.5-1. Could also set up some hedge opportunities later in the tournament.

Without taking any credit away from Stony Brook -- because they really are a good team -- I'm not sure I believe the coach's comments.

Good find, BetATL. I'm unfamiliar with CWS, but how does seven players drafted compare to most other teams left? Like, how many did Florida, Florida St, etc, have drafted? Do you know?

No idea, 7 just sounded like a lot.

Yeah, I just know the MLB draft is like 600 rounds long so I wasn't sure either. LOL

RE: College World Series
Since they've gone to the 2 bracket format, each year I pick one team on each side to win it all. You get + price on everyone, and if you're lucky and both your teams make it to the finals you can kick back and root for the higher payout. Otherwise, hedging could come into it.
Many of the individual games are unbetable if you like the favorite (-300+) and even laying the - 3.5 or so runs many times is - big money.

I'm no expert but here's my quick look--

Bracket 1--
Ariz-- don't know if they can win away from home, but they should hit OK in this ballpark.

FSU-- Should probably win it

UCLA-- overrated

Stony Brook-- the cinderella-- great hitting, fielding, pitching-- only problem is they've never been here, and Omaha virgins don't usually do well (note-- these Ariz players have never been here either)

Bracket 2--

Arkansas-- does not score enough

Kent St-- ditto (but they can beat Ark opening game)

Florida-- #1 team in country- beat S Carolina 3 out of 4 meetings this year

S Carolina-- back-to-back winners of CWS, and unbeaten in post-season play since 2010

Stony Brook to win Bracket 1 +565
Stony Brook to win CWS +1500
I drank the kool aid

Whoever wins Sat. between Fla and S Caro gets huge leg up and probably wins Bracket 2. S Caro is pitching Roth.

S Carolina to win CWS +575
