College Basketball Saturday
Big slate of games and there are two that jumped out to me right away:

Georgetown +2 at West Virginia - How is Georgetown an underdog in this game? They may be the hottest team in the country right now winning game after game against good opposition. I know WVA has been tough at home, but Georgetown has all the components of a title contender (veterans, PG play, shooter, and big men). WVA is a poor free throwing shooting team which is danger against a good team. Gtown went into Louisville and got a W. Came back from 15+ down against Marquette and won. But... WVA is favored? Don't get it.

Missouri PK at Kansas State. How does Kansas State contain this Missouri offense? Haven't been impressed by the Wildcats... Missouri on the other hand has really taken a step this year to contend. How handles Denmon?

The only downfall I see on the Mizzou game (and this is just me playing devil's advocate) is that this will be Mizzou's first true road test. They did play ODU on the road, but I have to think that K-State will be a tougher place to play.

RE: College Basketball Saturday
Delaware – 3 (6-7) (2-1) vs. Wm. And Mary (3-12) (1-2)

Delaware travels 4 hrs south to play the Tribe in a CAA contest.
The Tribe is fresh off a pretty impressive defeat of James Madison (7-6) (1-2)at home.

They worked the perimeter and shot 62% from the arc. They were 88% from the F T line as well.
JMU shot a dismal 36% from the floor w/ an even worse 8% from behind the arc. It was a 7 pt victory.
Delaware is off of a 1 pt. home win against Hofstra.
They narrowly lost to Temple by a possession 2 back where they controlled the game for a majority of 40 minutes.

Both teams seem to equally defend the perimeter.
My feel is the battle will be in the paint with the edge going to Delaware.
What Delaware needs to do is keep w&M off the foul line.
The excessive shooting should regress for W&M as well.

KenPom has Delaware a 6 point favorite on a neutral court..

Agree about the road test for MO. However K State has been on a 6-0 run since there loss to W. Va until they ran into a brick wall in Lawrence losing to KU 67-49. I don't think they'll be up to the task when they host 14-0 Mizzou who's coming off a thrashing of the Sooners 87-49.

Three days later here comes undefeated Baylor. Tough row to hoe.

I been looking at the Evansville/Ill ST game. Eville has been on fire since conf. play started beating NIU by 11 on the road, So. Ill at home by 18 and coming off close home loss to Wichita St 67-66.

Ill st is coming of a big win at Mo St and I think they are gonna be looking ahead to their next games - Wichita St and Creighton.

Any thoughts on this?

RE: College Basketball Saturday
I would take the points in the missouri valley game with evenly matched team. more times than not, these games come down to the wire either way, I would feel more comfortable having points in my pocket.

Only team I would touch with points is Bradley.

I agree with you there. Don't see how Kansas State can keep pace with Missouri. One thing to watch for, however, is this.

And an afternoon. Both Georgetown and Missouri were never really in their respective games.

Picked up St. Johns at Cincy... won outright. On Virginia (home to Miami) and Colorado (home to Wash St.).

Both are solid home teams (in particular Colorado) against poor road squads.

RE: College Basketball Saturday
What's the feel on Miss St -1.5 @ Arkansas? Miss st has only had one true road game and 3 neutral games going 3-1 losing to Baylor by two.

I think Moultrie and Sidney will dominate inside and Hood and Bost will have solid games. Hoods height and length will give them trouble.

RE: College Basketball Saturday
Arkansas has been solid at home. 11-1 this season. Granted, they don't have very many quality wins, but still something to consider.

I still would have thought that Miss. State would be favored by 3-4 pts, even on the road. They are the better team and should win this game. I think this will be a sweat-it-out type of game, regardless of the side you're on. Good Luck.

RE: College Basketball Saturday
Am I missing something, but why is Murray State only -4 against Austin Peay? That's almost more confusing than USC-Arizona PK (now up to Zona -2.5)

Thanks for the advice Jimmy appreciate the nudge. Eville only lost by 2.
Trying to narrow my focus. MVC and taking a look at Summit, that's an interesting conf.

Had no business medling in that Mizzou game. Thought I knew what I was talking about.
