Charity 1 on 1
For those who didn't see it, I faced off with Jack Zito in a 10-day comp where the loser committed to pay $20 to the winner's charity of choice. Whether JackZ will actually pay up is another discussion for another day, but I thought the concept was neat.

It basically gives you 10 days to "tout" yourself and try and outperform your competition, and the worse-case scenario is that you are donating a set amount (something nominal like $10 or $20) to a charity.

I'm not sure I'm ready to square off again, but I would love to see others compete, even in an abbreviated competition (5 days, 3 days, whatever).

I'm not trying to be over-bearing, I just think it would be a beneficial way to use the competition on this site, and I also think it would be entertaining for the rest of us to watch.

Am I way off on thinking this is a productive use of the tout zone?

People competing for charity is never a bad idea. Like it.

RE: Charity 1 on 1
After some thought, I think it might be cool to have whoever won the prior competition face a new challenger. So, since I bested Jack, I would face a new challenger. That would kind of add to the "tout" mystique, by letting someone stay on board after a victory.

I hope no one thinks I am touting myself. I am an amateur sports bettor, at best. Hell, I finished BARELY above even against Jack. In fact, had Jack not had an epic cold streak at his NBA-specialty, I probably would not have prevailed.

But maybe letting someone face a new challenger would add some continuity. Just spitballing.

I honestly just like that the idea involves a donation to a charity.

Ok, well I guess I'll just leave it here. If anyone is interested, let me know. If not, I understand that as well.
