CBB Tuesday
Just wanted to start things off since the lines are out and most of us are locked in with our Monday cards.

Northeastern @ La Tech (Pick 'Em)

Once again, my favorite line to dissect. Both of these teams are below average. La Tech has been playing the better ball of late and there doing it going from inside-out. They've also put together some nice 2nd half runs to be in their games, while scoring clutch baskets at the end to secure it. Meanwhile, Northeastern has given up several 2nd half runs and is on a 4-game losing streak. Give me the bulldogs!

RE: CBB Tuesday
I am leaning on Delaware-2.5 to cover against LaSalle.
Delaware's back court were named CAA coplayer and rookie of the week on Nov.28
Those were games against Drexel and Penn.
They had a very easy road game against Del State (nonlined game) so they are plenty rested.

The line move indicates an interest in Delaware as well.

Really like NC State tomorrow over St. Bonnies. NC State has played some real good competition and played schools like Indiana and Syracuse pretty well. Bonnies did play an ok Illinois team to the end, but they rely too much on Andrew Nicholson while NC State has plenty of weapons. Shocked this is available at pick'em

My favorite early lean is Richmond -4.5 at home against Old Dominion. I think the Spider's shooting should cover that at home. Will look into it more but initial look is good for Richmond

that's a stay-away for me. Richmond's been a bit disappointing this year (I think they were a bit over-valued early on name recognition) and ODU has looked good against some better teams. I don't really like being on either side of that line.

This would be a St. Bonny or no play for me. N.C. State has played a difficult schedule and done well, but I covered Nicholson all throughout his junior and senior year of HS, and I've never seen a high school kid take a game over so easily. Once he gets hot, especially against N.C. State's rough perimeter defense, look out.
Another one that stands out to me is Miami of Ohio giving 5 at home vs. Evansville. I realize they beat Butler, but nothing oozes confidence about this team, and I think if it turns it to a shoot-out, Miami has the edge from behind the arc with Mavunga and Harris, and who is going to stop Miami's two 6-8 monsters?

I'm rolling with Miami here.

We're on ODU and La Tech from what was discussed. Lean to Miami, Mavunga is a beast. Here's our usual link, but everything is in the contest thread too: http://beatingthesportsmarket.blogspot.c...d-mnf.html

RE: CBB Tuesday
Jumping on a couple big dogs against high public perception teams. Charleston +17 and Bucknell +20.5. I don't expect a Davidson from either of these teams, but these are big games on any tournament resume. Need a good showing to get some props from the selection committee.

Charleston has to be going in there with the "Why not us, too?" mentality after Davidson knocked off Kansas. And, personally, I think Charleston a better team than Davidson.

Same thought process. This NC State is much better than they have been the last couple seasons.

Their "worst" loss was a 4 point loss at Stanford. Their other 3 losses are to ranked teams including Syracuse and Indiana. Both of whom will be in the top 10 sooner rather than later.

The bad news was no bowl (should have given up this years), the good news is now the Michigan game will be OSU's Bowl Game. They will attack the game with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind.

Thus, the Michigan beating OSU Ban will be returned after a one year vaca.

It's an Internet version of zing-pong! Only with Michigan and Ohio State playing instead of two Southeast Asian dudes...

RE: CBB Tuesday
NC State with a buzzer beater for a big win over a solid St. Bonnie's squad.

Charleston up 4 at the half and playing very well against Louisville. Charleston was available at +11.5 2nd half, down to +11 for half two. Louisville needs to win by 8 to cover the half. The way Charleston has come out, this looks eerily similar to yesterday's Davidson / Kansas game.

Mid Major quality is up significantly from last year it seems. Any further thoughts on this?

RE: CBB Tuesday
It's a good time of year to bet road teams getting large points. Most home court advantages are marginalized due to students absence for the holidays.

Also a squad like COC is playing their hearts out. This is like a tournament game to these guys.
The next 2 best teams they play are George Mason and Davidson twice for the season. Statement time.

Louisville is thinking back to back creampuffs with W. Kentucky up And Georgetown and Kentucky to end the year.

This is the classic sandwich spot. I may not want to be W.K. though if Louisville loses outright.

thanks for sharing your thoughts on the LA Tech game. gave me enough reason to look into it and was able to get the Bulldogs plus 2 at GVR. Lucky for me there was no KSU contingent holding up the line at the Ranch.
