RE: Bet you wish you could have back
Not the worst bet I've ever made, but probably close: Arizona St +14.5 today. Why bet on a shell of a team with no coaches and no discipline against a machine that's done nothing but dismantle people for the last 7 years. Because a "number is good"? Blah. I need to stop overthinking some of my bets trying to be 'sharp'. The 'sharp' idea there was that it was a letdown spot for Boise in a bad bowl game as a top 10 team and that it was windy so the score would be kept down a little, and whatever else. In cases where I'm considering playing against my (very square) gut because it seems to be a 'sharp' side, I need to strongly consider staying away, not actually playing it.

RE: Bet you wish you could have back
Seems like you were either high on the Eagles or just fading the Seahawks. I'm not going to lie, I didn't think the Seahawks would win the game, and I'm a fan. It's so difficult to look at Philadelphia and not believe that they have the best talent on the field.
Match that with the fact that Seattle hadn't looked good offensively, and I could see why you went big. But, Seattle at home is a completely different team. I actually think they win out to have a SLIM chance at making the playoffs. [/quote] Yeah, I thought the Eagles were starting to get undervalued and was fading the Seahawks. I've also faded Marshawn Lynch since he's been in the league; I think he's always been overrated just because of the whole "Beast Mode" appeal. But yeah, Seattle at home. Mistake. They could sneak in but I think the Lions will win this week and clinch. |

USC '88, week 11. They were beating the pants off of everyone and was undefeated at that point. In comes Notre Dame with a -4 line that I thought was a gift. Bet the barn and then some. USC ended up losing 10-27 and I stopped betting on football till a few years ago.

Victor,
I have been trying to search online to see what the spread was during that 88 season when Miami played at Notre Dame. Just by guessing I would think Miami layed 7 at south bend but have no idea where to confirm it. By chance, do you know what the line was for that game, since you brought up the 88 season? |

Memphis ML against Georgetown. I played it hoping to have a lead at halftime, but it went south, quickly. Then for the remainder of the game, the Tigers teased me with a few comebacks before laying one final egg.
Couldn't get much value throughout. Very frustrating game last night.

I almost got lured into teary-eyed Dennis Erickson in the pregame, thinking, "Man, he loves to coach! The players are going to play HARD for him in his last game!" I'm very glad I stayed away.

RE: Bet you wish you could have back
I lost a huge bet on Manchester United in the UCL this year. They were like -750 on the m/l at home against some team I'd never heard of (at the time). I was bored at work, and thought, "I'll make a few extra bucks real quick, since United is in a terrible group. Besides, they always win all their UCL home fixtures." They did not win, and that one hurt.

Seemed like a trap. Live and learn hey! @oddsok88 |

I just remember watching the minutes tick away like, "They'll clean this up in 'Fergie Time'." They didn't. Twitter: @AaronMount |
